お恥ずかしながらエレクトロニックミュージックのアーティストの曲でフューチャリ
ングされていて彼女を知ったのですが、とりあえず歌うますぎですね(汗。

この価格で代表曲が聴けるのでお得です。
是非ライブでこの歌声を聴いてみたいですね。

いまから20年ほど前に自動車のCMで流れたBen's songのインパクトが
いまだに忘れられません。美しく、センスの良い広告でした。

その後、あまり名前を聞かないようでしたが、リリスフェアから
ぐっと知名度が上がったようです。

その間に、音楽自体がルーツ的なサウンドに深まっていったようで、
彼女らしさをその中に見つけたのでしょう。大変存在感のアーチストに
成長していく様子が、このアルバムの中に見られます。

北米を代表する美声女性SSWのベスト盤。大ヒットしたVox,Possession,Adia,Building A Mystery,Angel,Fallenを全て収録しており、彼女の音楽的な変化、特にファーストで見せたエンヤなどにも通じるシンセサイザー主体のクラシックの影響が色濃いサウンドから、シンガーソングライターらしいフォーキーなサウンドへと変化してきたことが良く分かる。とびきりのうっとりするようなファルセットを持ってはいるが、華やかではないこのシンガーが北米でこれほどまでに成功でき、またアラニスモリセットやビヨンセといった異なる趣を持つミュージシャンからの賛辞を受け、リーダー的な存在としていられるのは、彼女が人の傷を優しく癒すような音楽性、闇を見据えてはいるが前向きで叙情的な歌詞、クレバーで品のある佇まい、それら全てを備えているからに他ならない。
