The fifth release from Argentinean artist Molina is a brave departure from her previous work. It's every bit as personal and intimate, but pronounced with rhythms and with bold low end added to the mix. A hypnotic record, restless, alive with melodies that surface imperceptibly before burrowing into your brain. The tracks are informed by an ever-shifting and polymorphous sense of groove. The rhythms flow over and inside each other, played out on wood and cymbal and bombo leguero, and woven from electronic glitches. David Byrne, NPR, and The NY Times are some of her many supporters.

通算5作目のフルアルバム。クレジットを見る限り、今回はアルゼンチンほにゃらら派の重鎮･フェルナンド･カブサキ、アレハンドロ･フラノフの参加はなく、ほぼフアナ単独で音作りに取り組んだ模様です。
その影響があるのか、本作は“Segundo”の時分と比べるとかなり曲の輪郭がくっきり明瞭で、フアナのヴォーカルが前に出てきている印象。
ミニマリスティックな電子フォークであることや、ふやふやほにゃほにゃしたセルフコーラスが蜿蜒と漂うところなど、スタイルそのものは過去の踏襲なのですが、以前の淡いパステル調の曲想に比べるとより幾何学的で立体的な音になっています。さらにフォークロア色というか、中南米色も強まっているように感じられますね。

かつての得体の知れないストレンジなポップセンスはそのままに、コクと歌心が増量になってます。
能動的に歌っている感じ。その歌に呪文のようなリズムとフロウがあって、聴いていて気持ちよく体が反応する。乗れます。彼女のエスニックな部分が作為的でない形でごく自然に滲み出ていて、それが心地よいヴァイブレーションになっている。

同郷アルゼンチン出身の小説家･ボルヘスの幻想小説でも読みながら聴くとスッとハマれそう。
そんな、求心力の強い魅惑の魔術的歌心アルバムです。

今まで全く知らない人だったけど、ジャケットに目を奪われＣＤショップにて試聴。
一曲目開始してすぐの声のインパクトと、聞きなれない響きの言語による歌、
特有の広がりと深みのあるサウンドにあっと言う間に虜になりました。

アコースティックな音色とエレクトロニカの融合というコンセプトは珍しいものではありませんが、
この作品ほど違和感なく成立している例も多くないのでは無いでしょうか。
そういった音楽を数多く聞いているわけでもないので偉そうに語ることは出来ませんが、
その成功例としてはもちろん単に一つの音楽として傑作であると言い切りたいほどの出来栄えです。

エレクトロニカと言っても近年大ヒットしたM.I.Aのように強烈なビートを主張させるのでは無く、
生楽器の音色と溶け込ませるような自然な表現を行っています。
それでいてアナログとデジタル双方の音がしっかり主張もしていて、
基本的には身を浸したくなるような浮遊感のある気持ちのいいサウンドでありながら、
ビートの存在感もはっきりと感じられるかっこいい音楽として完成しています。
声や母国語の響きも曲によく合っていて作品の質を高めています。

ここまで書いた特徴やジャケットからもしかするととっつきにくいイメージを抱くかもしれませんが、
暗いと思わせるような曲は意外となくポップスセンスが光っていると思わせる曲が多いです。
明るいかと言われればそれも違いますが、高揚感は確実にあります。
音楽好きには絶対一度は聞いてもらいたい作品。

今回がもう５枚目のアルバムでしかもそれなりに有名な人らしく今まで知らなかったことが悔やまれますが、
久しぶりに聞き込んでみたいアーティストです。
素直に今この音楽に出会えたことに感謝して、過去作を聞くことを当面の楽しみにしたいと思います。

グローバリズムは本来、価値の相対化を意味していた。Make the ground flat and make a
choice。

確実に音楽各誌の年間ベスト10に入りそうな、またしても傑作。

日本で異例の大歓迎を受けた”セグムンド”から”ソン”では聴きなれぬ国の言葉が味わいであり、同時に相対化できない文化価値として印象を残した。本作では、とうとうフアナは言葉を脱いだと言っていい。ここにあるのは”まるで見知らぬ動物の声”である。声になることで世界中のどこでも伝わる音楽を可能にした。そういう意味では相対化に成功したのだ。

サウンドにはこれまでと激しく変わったところはない。変わったのはフアナ本人のサウンドへの姿勢だ。彼女はますます世界化している。アレハンドロ・ロスのアートワークによるジャケットは、左右が鏡映しに成っている。相対化という解釈はそれほど遠いものではないと思う・
