自宅ではMac、会社ではWindows PC、さらにiPhoneやiPod touchなど、使っているすべてのデバイスのデータを「クラウド」(オンラインサーバー)に保存し、常にシンクさせておくことができる。
使い慣れたアプリケーションとスムーズに連係が可能で、Windows PCのMicrosoft Outlook、MacのMail、アドレスブック、iCalをはじめ、iPhoneやiPod Touchのメール、連絡先、カレンダーにも対応している。
メール、連絡先、カレンダーの管理は、me.comで対応可能で、変更後の情報は、OTA(Over The Air)でiPhoneまたはiPod Touchに自動送信される。メールや写真なども、20GBのクラウド保存すれば、サイズの大きいファイルも手軽に共有できる。

Macとの同期が簡単でスケジューリングやメールなどでは重宝します。しかしiDiskはデーターのアップロードが時間がかかりずぎでか以前が必要でしょうね。iPhone使いには便利で良いかもですが一般用途では?な部分があります。

すでの.Mac(me)メールをあちらこちらの登録に使っていた場合には、このパッケージを買わざる得ません。同じメールアドレスを使い続けるためだけにプロバイダーとの契約を続けているのと同じ状態です。20Gのオンラインストレージ、複数のマックやモバイルマックとの同期をとるための基になるなどのオマケもあります。オンラインストレージは同規模以上のものが無料で出ているのであまりありがたみはないかもしれませんがマックの任意のフォルダを指定しておくと自動で同期してくれるなどの点ではありがたみはあるのかもしれません。そしてこの同期機能については実際に複数のマックを使っている場合には必須なのかもしれません。一番の問題はオンラインストレージに保存したデータのセキュリティだと思いますが、その点については他社の有料・無料のオンラインストレージの場合にも言えることだと思いますし、また同程度のセキュリティレベルなのではないかと思います。なお、マック、マックと言いましたが、ウィンドウズ版もたしかあったのではないかとおもいます。さらにiPhoneをお持ちの場合は「iPhoneを探す」という新機能を使うためにはこのMobaileMeに加入していることが条件だったと思います。あくまでもたぶんですので確実なところはウィンドウズ版の有無と合わせてアップルのサイトでの確認のほどよろしくお願いいたします。
