第9シーズンDVDの1巻目、テレビ局の変更に伴い声優陣を一新し発売元がソニー・クリエイティブ・プロダクツになりました。メニューでの設定と再生中の切り替えと両方可能な吹き替え音声とイギリス英語音声、日英字幕、映像スクイーズ収録、の仕様。収録作品は、「トーマスとにじ」「ゴードンってすごい！」「モリーのとくべつなにもつ」「バースデーピクニック」の4話収録の約31分。各話の最後には日本ではテレビ放送されなかった英国版のエンドロールが流れます。オープニングは日本で作り直したテレビと同じものが収録され英国版は未収録で、ややちぐはぐ感があります。収録映像の平均レートは9.13Mb/secと極めて高めの設定、可変範囲は4.5Mb/sec〜10Mb/secオーバーと広範囲で高画質です。暗いシーンでやや黒つぶれになる所が気になる以外はとてもきれいな映像で、放送時の時計や告知テロップの無い事も鑑賞に集中できます。ただDVDの問題ではなく日本語版制作上の問題ですが、鉄道用語がこれまでのシーズンと不統一で、貨車を荷台と呼んでいるのにはどうしても違和感が残りました。

ストリーが上手く構成されており
孫が真剣で見てます。画質の縦横サイズ比率が良く違和感がなく満足してます。
