既にCrossOver Mac 8が発売されており、そちらの方が安くて互換性もやや高い。

本製品は、オープンソースのWineをMacintosh用にカスタマイズしただけの物であって、
動かないソフトがあって当たり前であり、決して、Windowsの代替環境となる物ではない。
本格的にWindowsを使うつもりならば、まず、BootCampや仮想PC(Parallels,VMWare)を用意すべきだろう。
本家CodeWeaversのサイトでも軽微なバグのみの"Gold Medal"はリストの1割くらいしかない。
CrossOver Macの設定、DirectX等の周辺ソフトの取捨選択、アプリケーションの設定
等を細かく弄らないと動かないソフトも少なくはなく初心者には全くお勧めできない。
また、単にWineを試したいだけなら、DarwineやMikuInstaller等、無料で使える物もある。
ただ、より新しいバージョンのWineを使っているMikuInstallerで動かないソフトが
やや古いバージョンのWineを使っているCrossOver Macで動く場合があるなど、
Macintosh向けのカスタマイズには一日の長があるようだ。
Wineそのものにはないツール類も整備されていてかなり使いやすくなっている。
Intelmac+Windows+WikiでGoogle検索すると動作検証リストを公開しているサイトが見つかるので上手に活用しよう。
日本語版発売元のNetJapanから30日間使用可能な体験版がダウンロードできる。

私の場合は、6.3でほぼ全滅だった手元の2Dゲームの半分が動作した。
DirectX9.0cを要求する3Dゲームも極一部は動く。
昔と比べれば確実に互換性は向上しており、将来は期待が持てそうだ。

基本的に、NetJapanのHPで動作確認済みのものしか使えないと考えた方が良さそうです。
運が良ければ、載ってないものでも動くかもしれませんが、あまり期待はしない方がよいかも。

Bootcampの再起動が煩わしいので、仮想環境かこれか悩み、
こちらを購入してみましたが。。。

使っているソフトが使えないか？と運を天に任せ購入してトライしてみましたが、
エラーが出まくり、使えないことが判明。

結局、Fusionを別途購入し、現在はそちらのユニティーモードでWin系ソフトを利用しています。

きっと、相性の良いソフト使っている方は、非常に使いやすいのでしょうね。
対応ソフト数が増えれば、今後発展するでしょうが、
その辺りが、バージョンアップで改善されていかないと、
そのうちなくなってしまいそうな感じですかね。

とにかく、難なくいろいろなソフトが使えるようになっていくことを
期待したいと思います。

Win用しかないソフトをMacで使うため，最も手軽な方法を選びました。メーカーがネットで公開している体験版でそのソフト(未対応)の動作を確認し，購入しました。１世代前のiMac20でもサクサク動きます。WinのOSが不要のため，手軽で安価，便利に使っています。
