初期のクリフバートン時代のメタリカが好きな人には特にお勧め！あの頃のスピード感が今のスロウテンポな重さと融合して絶妙な具合に仕上がってる。選曲も素晴らしい！！MotorHeadはもちろんBOCからBlack Sabbath、ThinLizzyまで多岐にわたるジャンルを網羅している。メタリカの多様な音楽的嗜好が伺える一枚といえる。Whiskey in the JarはThinLizzy盤とは全く違うハードなナンバーに仕上がってるがThinLizzy盤の素朴さと趣を失っていない全く別の名曲になっている！

カバーアルバムといえば大半は話題作りで、内容も大した事がないものが多いが、このカバーアルバムはスゴイ!!モーター・へッドやシン・リジー、レーナード・スキナードなどの名曲を見事に演奏している。今のメタリカにはない物が沢山詰まっています。個人的にはＤisc２が聴き応え満載でした。メタリカが影響を受けたバンドのガバー曲が沢山収録されているので、メタリカのルーツを探る事が出来ます。

全曲カヴァーのアルバムは Garage Days Re-revisited (1987リリース) の頃は斬新だったが、半分ぐらい Garage Days じゃん、とか思ってこのアルバムは聴いていなかった。だが。。。いいじゃん！ここ最近のオリジナル盤 (Load〜St.Anger) なんかより断然いい！Garage Days 中心の二枚目もいいが、一枚目はもっといい。言っちゃ悪いが最近のオリジナルより曲がいいんだな。音も俺好み。
Garage Days の曲も多いので、星四つ。
