2008 release, the second in a series of rare live recordings by the Bay Area rockers. This 1967 recording contains many highlights including superb versions of 'You Don't Love Me' and 'A Fool For You'. Also includes 'Gold and Silver', 'Walkin' Blues', 'I Hear You Knocking' and 'All Night Worker' and shows the band were flexible and able to put together a set that highlighted their musical dexterity. オースティンのＳＳＷであり多くのミュージシャンから頼りにされるギターリスト。
これが３作目でありルーツロックファン待望の新譜。
前作「BYZANTINE」はアコギの生音を活かした若干ポップなアメリカーナだったが本作は躍動感のある、カラッとしたロックナンバーが印象的な作風。
全体的にはブルージーなナンバー、フォークロック路線等々あり今まで以上にカラフルであり充実作と言えるだろう。
特にボーカリストとしての技量は相当アップしているように感じる。
ハスキーで男らしい唄声がかっこいい。
普段着のロックを培ってきた確かな演奏でこなしているのは好印象だが、Scrapyなだけに、もう少し物質的に聞こえない部分でのルーツロックとしての深み、厚みがあっても良かった。

Jud Newcombのソロ3作目。Austen周辺のミュージシャンのサポートとして、
−Loose DiamondやThe Resentmentsのメンバーとしての方が有名か？−
"Scrappy"のニックネームで多彩に活躍しているギタリスト。通常ギタリスト
が出すアルバムはいまいちな代物が多いが、Judに関すればその心配は杞憂。
かなりポップでロックだった2ndと比べると、少し渋くブルース色とカントリー
色が強くなっている。#1「45rpm」のストレートでコマーシャルなヘヴィロック
や#2「State of Distruction」のブルージーでヘヴィなロックトラック等、
アルバム前半ではロックしているが、後半は殆どレイドバックしたスローな
ナンバーが続く。
ちょっとスローなトラックが多いが、味わい深くAusten周辺のルーツロック
の基本ともいうべき手堅い1枚となっている。Jud関連のアルバムが好きなリス
ナーなら損はしない1枚。
