当時、日本での人気の理由はルックスだったと思います。洋楽がメディアにとりあげられる機会の少なかった時代でしたが、来日コンサートがＮＨＫのニュースとして当時の大臣が聴きに行った、とＴＶで見た記憶があります。前作で大々的な成功を収め、余裕をもって臨んだアルバムでしょう。アルバム全体にそういった部分が感じられます。楽曲に昔のような強い個性はないけども、どれも聴き易くツブが揃っています。午後のまったりしたお茶の時間にぴったり。

がっぽりもうけちゃったぜ的な笑顔がトレードマークなジャケ。でも中身はいまいち。調子悪かったみたいね。使い切ってしまったのだろうか、才能を。やっぱフックがいまいち。過去の焼き直し的な楽曲が多くかなりつらい。カバーに頼っている部分も不調をシグナル。

ローリング・ストーンズのミック・ジャガーが７曲目の「愛はどこに」Tried To Loveでバックボーカルを取っています。クレジットにはありませんが、レコーディングの夜にスティービー・ワンダーと駆けつけてくれたと書いてあります。（ちなみにスティービーは８「すてきなロッキー」Rocky's Hot Clubでハーモニカを演奏しています。）ミックの独特な声がセンターから聞こえるのでうれしいです。当時のヒット曲はタイトル曲アイム・イン・ユー、１０スティービーの往年のヒットのカバー「涙をとどけて」、「愛はどこに」でした。ギタリストとしてのピーターのほうがより魅力を堪能できるので、映像とともにみたほうが彼の良さを理解しやすいでしょう。ボーカルで魅了するというよりも「カムズ・アライブ」のような爆発するエネルギーを感じるライブのほうがわかりやすいかもしれません。ラストの曲が一番元気がいいでしょうか。イギリス人はやはりモータウン・サウンドの影響をうけているんすね。
