だれしも一度は時間について考えたことがあるだろう

この曲では鬼束ちひろが考える時間の概念が彼女の澄んだ歌声で切々と語られる

その一瞬が永遠だとあなたは教えてくれた人、との歌詞には私も共感した

現代の日本においては永遠なんて結婚式での誓いの言葉の中でしか存在しない

彼女は蛍になぞらえて時のはかなさを謳いあげた

時間について思いを巡らせる時にふいに聴きたくなる曲だ

正直、鬼束さんには今まで全く興味がありませんでした。
しかし、こないだのRock in Japan 2008の"蛍"と"Dream On"のライブを目にしたとき、
『嗚呼、この人はロックなんだな。こんなにも凄まじい熱を持ったロックシンガーなんだな。』と思い感動いたしました。
歌唱力も演奏も作詞作曲も周りの声も結局どうだっていいんです。
あの人はただ叫びたいだけなんだ。
鬼束さんには末永く続けて、心を叫んでいて貰いたいです。
だって今のジャパニーズロックに叫んでる人がいないから。

今現在、アマチュアの延長のようなカラオケ・ボックス世代のアーティストとしても自立した1人の人間としも大人でなく、コトナの幼い少女が、歌姫などと持て囃されBGMのような無機質な音を流し続けている。本来、歌は人の心の琴線に触れ感動させ、人の心を揺り動かすものである。今現在、本物の歌い手の1人である鬼束ちひろは、衝撃的なデビュー以来巷に蔓延している偽りの歌姫とは全く無縁の本物の詩い手として、数々の困難を乗り越え、後世に残る名作、蛍を作りあげた。この作品を聴いてみれば、今流行りの軽々しく使われている歌姫という言葉が虚しく思える。本物が少ない現在、本当に本物のアーティストであり、作品である。素晴らしい歌い手である鬼束ちひろに感謝。
