子供のスナップ専用に購入しましたが防水という特性は七難を隠します。今年の夏は海に川に大活躍でした。
チョット難があるのがモードの自動切換え。モードを自分で選んでしまえば問題ない場面でも、オートにしておくと勝手に切り替わって、例えば「チョット暗い室内で夜景モードになってしまいストロボが発光しない」など、意図と異なる場面がちょくちょくあります。

大勢で山に登った時などに広角２８ｍｍだと「中心に寄って下さい」と言わなくても全員を写せます。雪山で重宝するのが「４ｍ防水機能と−１０度までの動作保障」です。雪や水滴も気にせずにすみますし、寒さでカメラが動かないなんて事も無いです。何より軽量を求める登山者には重量１４５ｇ（バッテリーとＳＤカード含む）で防水・広角は魅力です。夏の沢登りにも最適なカメラだと思います。難点はカメラレンズにカバーが無いので傷になり易い気がします。私はPENTAX プロテクタージャケット O-CC812を併用して本体とレンズの傷防止をしていますが、これがなかなか良いんです。滑り難いのでかじかんだ手でも楽々操作できます。バッテリーは小型の為か減りが早い気がしますので、使う前にはフル充電する事をお勧めします。

沖縄でカヌーをした際に「防水デジカメ欲しいなあ。」と思い、他機種と比較して購入しました。広角・5倍ズーム・ＳＤメモリー対応という点でＷ60に軍配。先日の雨降りでも安心して使えました。今度は是非水中での撮影に挑戦したいと考えています。ただ、レンズが常時むき出しなのはレンズに傷がつかないかと不安で、後からケースも買いました。
