正直なところ、CHEMISTRYに関しては今まであまり興味はなく、
「歌は抜群に上手いけれどもCDを買いたいと思う程ではないなぁ」
という程度の認識でしか無かったのですが、偶然CDショップで
この最新シングルを聴いて、その場でCDを購入しました。

とにかく川畑氏の手掛けた表題曲が格好良くて痺れます。
流行のエレクトロサウンドを大胆に取り入れたアップテンポなこの曲は
PVも秀逸な出来で、モノクロな画面でCGや独特なカットを多用した
斬新な作りのビデオとなっています。
今回PVを手掛けたのは安室奈美恵「WHAT A FEELING」やYUKI「JOY」等の
PVを制作した中村剛氏とのこと。道理で個人的にもツボなわけです（笑）。
楽曲単体でも素晴らしいですが、PVが楽曲の魅力をさらに引き上げている
のは間違いないのではないでしょうか。

c/wとして収録されている堂珍氏の手掛けたヴァージョンも、滋味深い
アコースティックギターの音色と、絡み合う二人のヴォーカルが
魅力的なハーモニーを作り出す素敵なミドルバラードとなっています。
曲調的にもこれからの季節にピッタリで、こちらも十分メインに足る出来ですが、
あえてアップテンポver.をメインに据えた判断は大正解だと思います。

今回のシングル、自分のようにCHEMISTRYを「バラードデュオ」としか
認識してなかったリスナーは良い意味で裏切られたのではないでしょうか？
気が早いですが、次のシングル、そして次のアルバムが非常に楽しみです。
まずは過去のアルバムをデビュー作から順番に聞いていこうと思っています。
日々の楽しみがまた一つ増えました。

CHEMISTRYが作詞・作曲するのは初めてではありませんが、シングルのA面でリリースするのは初めてです。二人も最高のボーカリストからシンガーソングライターへの扉を開けようとしています。期待の意味も込めて星5つにします。

同じ歌とは思えません。二人の雰囲気に合った楽曲となっています。
