このＤＶＤに出てくる子供たちは８〜９歳。まだまだ親にも甘えたい、お友達とも遊びたい年頃だというのに、親元を離れ、毎日午後いっぱいをバレエの稽古に費やしています。
太ることへの恐怖、入学試験のプレッシャー、人間関係の悩み…いろいろな壁にぶちあたりながらも、「バレエは僕の情熱」「絶対にエトワールになりたい！」と語るその姿は、まだ小学３・４年生の子供たちとはとても思えません。バレエをしているお子さんはもちろんのこと、大人が見てもいい刺激になるでしょう。

さすが、と思ったのは、オペラ座がまだ入学が決定していない研修生にも厳しく、質の高い教育を受けさせること。この映像を見ると、一流の教育が一流のダンサーを育てるのだなぁ…としみじみ納得。
そして面白かったのは、「表現のクラス」というクラスの映像。この担当の先生がとってもエネルギッシュ！レッスンの内容も、日本のお教室ではこういう訓練はなかなかしないのでは、と思われるようなものばかり。大のオトナの私でも、こんなレッスン思わず受けてみたいと思ってしまいました。
この子たちの誰かが、10年後にはオペラ座に入団して、日本公演に来るのかしら…、と思うと、今から楽しみです。そして、おまけですが、エマニュエル・ティボーの踊るブロンズ・アイドルの映像が少しだけ入っています。
バレエをしている方やオペラ座ファンにおすすめです。

とってもよかったです。バレエのドキュメンタリーが好きな方は是非見ていただきたい作品です。ロシアバレエのドキュメンタリー作品は多いですが、オペラ座のはなかなかなかったのですが、買って正解でした。非常に内容が濃いです。

そして何よりびっくりしたのが、子供達の上達の早さです。選ばれた生徒だけあってもともとの能力の高さもすごいですが、すごい勢いで上達しているのがわかります。
また、ロルナ・ヒルさんの作品の「バレリーナの小さな恋」と「ピンクのバレエシューズ」に出てくるようなシーンがたくさんあって、さし絵は昔のバーションの方がよかったですがその作品もお勧めです。

とても興味深い内容で、最後まで一気に見ました。
小さな子どもたちが親元を離れて自分の夢に向かって努力する姿に胸が打たれます。
生意気な面や親を恋しがるなど、普通の子供らしい部分も見られ、楽しいです。
未来のバレリーナを目指すお子さんにぴったりだと思います。
