ハーレムファンとして買わざるを得ず買ったけど正直がっかり。ハリーの声に張りがなく、楽曲も中途半端。ピートのギターソロも鳥肌が立つようなフレーズがなく、あまりにも迫力のないドラムが更に興醒め。この内容なら出さないで欲しかった・・・。全体的な印象は良く言えばベテランならではの落ち着いた雰囲気だが、悪く言えば勢いも華々しさもない。Human Natureで終わらせて欲しかったな。

最後のアルバムにして賛否両論はあるが、ぼくはこのアルバムをダメだとは思わない。確かに曲全体に華やかさや持ち前のノリの良さは稀薄かもしれない。
だけれど何回も聴くと鯣烏賊のように味がじわじわ分かってくるし、彼らのやりたい本当の音楽が、このHopeというアルバムであるんじゃないかと思う。

希望というアルバム名は恐らくそういう意味を含めて、彼らの本音が凝縮されている非常に奥深いアルバムなんだと思います。

一回聴いて気に入らなかった人は何回も聴いてみてください。良さが徐々に分かってくると思うので。

3rdまでは本当によく聴いていました。あれからずいぶん経って、最後のアルバムとのこと。
いつの間にかさっぱり魅力ないバンドになってしまった印象。

それにしても数枚前から加入したという、このさもないドラムは何？？　曲に何の貢献もしていない。無味無臭で毒にも薬にもならないドラム、それが良いドラムとは決して思えない。あのHarem Scaremがこんなドラマーを選んだことはさっぱり理解できない。比べてオリジナルのDarren Smithは素晴らしかった。パワーがありアイディアも豊富、ライブでは特に光っていたなぁと。

かつては大ファンだったが、彼らがここらで締めくくるのはむしろ良いことだったかも、と思わされた。
