既に発売されている旧ソ連はレニングラードでのライブアルバムのリマスター盤です。
実際ライブ音源はドラムだけでこれはライブ盤ではないと言う人もいますが、
それはまた別の話ということでw
DVDも既に発売されている為、発売の必要があるのかとお思いの方も居られると思います。
DVD版は映像が見られるのが最大の利点ですが、音質の点で難があります。
折角インギーのギターソロが来ても、音のこもりが酷過ぎて聞き取れないのです。
実際映像で相当指が動いてる筈なのに、音が届いてこないので不満をお持ちの方もいらっしゃると思います。

ですが、本作はギターの音が相当に高く設定されており、
「あの場面はこんなフレーズを弾いていたのか！」とDVD版を既に見た私も新しい発見がありました。
どちらか一方だけ、と言うならやはりDVD版をオススメしますが、
余裕があるファンなら是非とも押さえて頂きたい１枚です。

2008年盤特典として高音質素材SHM-CDを使用し、2007年版の24bitデジタルリマスター仕様となっています。
確かに音圧、分離共に向上していることを確認出来ます。
私はライブアルバムとしては、後年発売されたものよりコチラをオススメします！
是非聴いてみて下さい！（ '∀｀ ）

イングヴェイの初期６作品が紙ジャケット、２４ｂｉｔデジタルリマスターにて発売。この作品は、１９８９年の当時ソ連が崩壊し、ロシアにならんとする激動の時代の中、元来クラシック好きなロシア人にも絶大な人気で迎えられたレニングラードでのアリーナライブを収録したものです。メンバーもジョーリンターナー在籍時で、所謂絶頂期といわれる、まさに最高の状態でのライブにイングヴェイ自身も気合入りまくり、弾きまくり（弾きすぎ・・）の熱い演奏が堪能できます。特に１０分にも及ぶギターソロは圧巻としかいいようがありません。所で肝心のリマスター加減ですが、バランス重視したもので、ベースはややパンチがないものの全体的に音が太くなった仕上がりになっています。若干音は割れ気味ですが、元々が割れ気味だったので、音が痩せてるプラケースＣＤを買うのだったらこちらの方をお勧めします。ただ、全く同じ内容のＤＶＤが発売されているので、画像重視の方はそちらだけ購入するする方がいいと思います。
