今、世間で知られている、ピストルズ「勝手にしやがれ！」のプロデューサーは、ポール・マッカートニーのアルバムでも知られている、クリス・トーマスです。お聴きになった方多数だと思いますが、とてもよくできています。クリス・スペッディングがスティーヴ・ジョーンズの代わりにギターを弾いていた、という説もあります。
同時期の「白い暴動」「地獄に堕ちた野郎ども」が、これに比べて荒々しいのは、そういったことがあるからなのです。よって、「ナマのセックス・ピストルズ」を知りたい方は、このヴァージョンを聴いてください。なお、プロデューサーはデイヴ・グッドマンです。
「世界一ヘヴィなサウンドを作ろうとしていた」グッドマンの感性が爆発しています。私自身は、トーマス版「勝手にしやがれ」には何の違和感もないのですが、「これはオレが求めていたパンクじゃない」と感じている方は、このヴァージョンをどうぞ。「ナマのピストル・サウンド」が聴けますよ。
