前作「アンリーシュ・ザ・フューリー」から約3年経ってリリースされたイングヴェイ・マルムスティーンのアルバム。

ヴォーカルがドゥギー・ホワイトから元ジューダス・プリースト、アイスド・アースのティム"リッパー"オーウェンズにチェンジ。

歌声は暑苦しいと感じる部分はありましたが、イングヴェイの楽曲との相性は思っていたより良かったです。

楽曲のスタイルは基本的には今までと同じ。

アルバム前半は、少しヘヴィになったかと感じる曲が数曲あり、後半はインストが3曲(7.8.11)とイングヴェイが歌っているバラード調の曲が1曲あり大人しめでイングヴェイのメロディアスなギタープレイが目立つ曲が多いです。

サウンドはドラムの音がクリアに聴こえる。
ギターはやや濁っていますがギターソロはここ数年(2000年以降)のイングヴェイのアルバムで一番良かったです。

個人的には好きなアルバム。

DVDはインタビューと楽曲解説で収録時間は約12分。
サングラスをかけたイングヴェイがギターを持ちながら喋っていますが最後に数秒弾く、というより鳴らす程度。専門用語を結構使っています。

　まだ聴いてもないのに星１個って、あんまりじゃない・・・？？
批判するんならせめて聴いてからすべきじゃないかと。自分的にはＦＵＲＹとかすごく好きだし。
好き嫌いは当然人それぞれあると思うから、聴いて「これは好き！！」「これは嫌い！！」って
感想はもっともでしょうけど。

結論から言うといつものイングヴェイ作品です。
最近のイングヴェイのスタイルが好きであれば買いでしょう。
ただし、通常版を買ったほうが良いです、DVDはガッカリな内容なんで。（後述）

まぁ至る所で過去作品とかぶるメロディ、リフが満載なんですけど。

これはもうイングヴェイそのもののスタイルなので、
変わらない事をプラスと取るか、マイナスと取るかで評価は分かれるでしょう。
個人的にはプラスですかね。

個人的には1曲目と4曲目がオススメ。
特に4曲目はイングヴェイにしてはポップな感じでちょっと新しい。
残念なのはインスト曲がつまらないこと。

曲の方向性はアタックやアンリーシュザフューリーをさらにへヴィにしたような内容。
ただ気になったのは曲によってはギターがリズムに乗り切れて無いと感じること。
わざとやってるのかも知れないけど。
それと相変わらずギターがデカいミキシング。
ドラム、ベースは良い音なんだけど、ギターは濁ってるし、ボーカルは引っ込んでる。

限定？のDVDですが、1回見たら2度と見る気がおきません。
イングヴェイの曲解説ですが、アルバムに未収録の曲があったりして意味が無い。
せめてアルバムが完成してから解説を収録して欲しかった。
しかもギターを弾いたりしてくれない、語るだけ。
なのでDVDに関しては星1個、CDは星3個。
買うなら通常版か1曲多い海外版にしましょう。

音質は海外版でも変わらないと思う。
