Album Details

Whitechapel is a U.S. Brutal Deathcore band from Knoxville, Tennessee. This Is Exile is their 2008 album on Metal Blade Records and it shows the progression from the first album with more heavier rhythms adding good use of harmonics and melodies throughout the songs in use of the three guitarists. The tempo has been raised to add more of a Brutal Death Metal feel rather than full blown Deathcore.

アメリカ参デスメタルバンドのセカンドアルバム。バンド名はホワイトチャペルとカワイイが、中身は激烈デス。デスコアとジャンル分けされているようだが、聴けばなるほどな〜と感じました。トリプルギター編成でヘヴィでブルータルだがメロディもなかなか良い。ヴォーカルは低音グロウルと吐き捨て型が交互にでてくる。大雑把に言うとカンニバル・コープスをもう少し聴きやすく、今風にした感じかな。オススメします！

デスコアとジャンル分けされているが、通常のブルデスとなんら変わりなく割り振ってよいと思う。全体的にレベル高い楽曲構成。
メンバー全員偏りなくバランスが良い。まだまだ若いのだが、この若さでデスメタルとはなんだといことに対して理解度がとても高い。
期待できるバンドである!
オススメ!

　評価基準：★=ダメ/★★=まぁまぁ/★★★=及第点/★★★★=良い/★★★★★=最高
(↑あくまで個人評価です）
　
　所謂”デスコア”と呼ばれるバンドの２枚目。あの偉大なIRON MAIDENと同じ（！！）トリプル・ギター編成だが、アルバムを聴いた感じではそれが特に目立っているという事はない。

　デスコア特有のゴリゴリ＆ケイオティックな成分は少なく、むしろ聴き易い部類に入る音楽性だ。そういう意味では、曲作りに或る種のキャッチーさを取り入れ目指しているバンドなのかもしれない（でも、あくまでデスコア）

　このジャンルのバンドは彼らと後、デスコアの始祖JOB FOR A COWBOYぐらいしか聴かないのだが、彼らが正統デス・メタルに接近しているのに対して、このWHITECHAPELは（Vo.こそはデスコア系のマッドなデス声だが）メロデスの雰囲気を纏っているように感じられた。
　同じようなバンドが氾濫するこのジャンルに於いて、先のJ.F.A.Cと共に他とは頭ひとつ抜きんでた個性やキラリと光るものがあると思う。（後、個人的に気になってるのは、クリスチャン・デスコア・バンドのIMPENDING DOOMぐらいか・・）

まぁ、どちらも老舗METAL BLADEに籍を置くバンドだけに、今後シーンの中核を成して行くのだろうが、２バンドとも将来が非常に楽しみな逸材だ。これからも注目して行きたい。
