映画は、娘ふたりと見に行きました。
初めて映画館を体験する3歳の下の娘は、最初から最後まで身を乗り出し、
音楽に体を揺らし、ポニョにすっかり入れ込んでいて。。
私は、映画にも感動しつつ、娘の様子にもちょっと感動してしまいました。
それから1週間経った今日、ＣＤをひとりで聴きました。

涙が、だだ〜っとあふれ出て、自分でも驚きました。
だって、映画を見ているときは1滴も出なかったのですよ。

アナログへのこだわりは、映像だけでなく、音楽にもしっかり。
とても贅沢なフルオーケストラ。
ワルキューレを想起する、とおっしゃる方がいらっしゃいましたが、
私はドビュッシーの交響詩ラ・メール（海）や、ラヴェルのマメールロアを思い起こしました。
ちょっと複雑で混沌として、本当に母なる海そのもの。
深いイメージやテーマが改めてひらけてくるようで、
ポニョの世界を追体験したような気分です。
もちろん、あの可愛いテーマソングは、子どもと楽しく一緒に歌えそうですが、
全体で見ると、映画のサントラ、という範疇をやすやすと越えてしまう、
素晴らしいアルバムでした。
ポニョと、その音楽との出会いは、私にとって恐らく一生ものです。

宮崎アニメには欠かせない久石ミュージック。
今回は海の神話を音楽にしたような壮大な曲が多い。
彼の曲の旋律は時としてどことなく既存のクラッシックに似ていることがあるが、今回はワーグナーの指輪のワルキューレのような旋律があり楽しい。

ポニョは単純なストーリーに対して、圧倒的な作画力と音楽による深い表現力によって映画全体の質を高めている。

西洋神話的でありながら日本人の琴線のふれるような懐かしい旋律。
久石氏の音楽の中でも好きなサントラです。（何となくハウルに似ているけど…）

因みにブックレットは中閉じではなく、約1メートルもある折りたたみ式のブックレットが2部付いている。最初は手抜きなのか？？
と思ったが、ブックレットを開いてビックリ、宗介の陸の世界とポニョの海の世界がパノラマで描かれている。思わず額装して飾りたくなる。

エンディングのポニョの曲は映画用のショートバージョンなのですぐに終わってしまう。オリジナルのロングバージョンが聴きたい場合には別売のシングルを揃える必要がある。

映画を観た時に流れてた音楽で感動をもう一度、いや何度でも振り返ることのできるサウンドトラック版は数多くありません。
しかしこの崖の上のポニョは久石譲さんの素晴らしい曲とアレンジでストーリーと共に感動させてくれた。
この映画と音楽に出会えて感謝とありがとうを送りたい。癒しと勇気、いただきました。
