最近密かに?なのかどうかは分かりませんが、
プリプリのベストがリリースされてるんで気にしていたんですが、
まさかNew Mixでのベスト盤が出るとは予想外でした。。

曲を新たにmixし直されたということで聞いてみたんですが、
かなり新鮮な気分で聞けました。
音源は同じマスターテープなのに、
音の混ざり方などを変えるだけで、こんなにも曲の印象が変わるのかと驚きました。

｢GET CARZY｣などのロックチューンは、
オリジナルよりもドラムやギターといった楽器隊の音が
より前に出てきた音作りになってます。
もちろんボーカルもまた然りです。
｢DIAMONDS｣や｢HIGHWAY STAR｣｢SEVEN YEARS AFTER｣を聞いたときは
厚くなったベースとドラムの音にちょっとビックリしました。
やっぱり、プリプリはカッコイイ事を改めて感じます。
また大半の女性が聞いたであろう名曲｢M｣をはじめとするバラードは、
ピアノやボーカルがクリアになり、すぐそばで歌っているような音作りになってます。

結論として、サウンドが現代の音になってます。
当時の邦楽のサウンドとは違う、よりダイナミックな音です。
オリジナルの音源と比べれば、ギターやベース、ドラムなどの楽器隊の音が
違うのはすぐ分かると思います。
聞く人によってはかなり違った印象を抱くかもしれません。

オリジナルをしっかり聞き込んだ方には違和感がかなりあると思いますが、
音の変化のほかにも、新たな発見があるかもしれません。

カーステレオで聴いてみましたが昔のベスト盤より数段音が良いと思いました。
昔のCD持っている方もこの1枚は買って損はしないと思いますよ。

以前の音源を尊重したﾆｭｰﾘﾐｯｸｽとﾏｽﾀﾘﾝｸﾞで見事に完成した2008年Ver.
昔の音源と比べるとﾍﾞｰｽやｷﾞﾀｰが前面に出てきてよりﾊﾞﾝﾄﾞｻｳﾝﾄﾞになっています。
ﾌﾟﾘﾌﾟﾘってこんなにかっこよかったけと思えるサウンドです。
10年以上たっても良いと思える風化しない楽曲を作ったﾌﾟﾘﾌﾟﾘに脱帽です。
ぜひ名曲揃いのBESTなんで、ﾌﾟﾘﾌﾟﾘを知らない人も試しに聴いてみては…
