前作も凄まじいアルバムだったが、本作もそれに匹敵またそれ以上のアルバムだ!メロディアスでありつつも、より過激に進化した内容である。速いだけではなく静と動のバランスが絶妙でクオリティの高い楽曲の数々がこれでもかと高波の如く押し寄せてくる様は圧巻だ。それを成り立たせているのは、各メンバーの力量あっての事だが…特にドラムはヤバ過ぎる!!前作と共に本作も超お勧め。今年のNo.1候補!それにしても日本盤が出ないのは残念だ…

ノルウェーのメロブラバンド、キープ・オブ・カレッシンの4th。2008作
激烈系メロブラとしての質の高さを見せつけた前作に続き、今作もハイクオリティな傑作だ。
全体的にコンセプトからくるドラマティックな雰囲気が格段に増し、
激烈に疾走、ブラストしつつも、センスあるギターリフとフレーズで
メロディと世界観を構築してゆく手法はさらに磨きがかかっている。
シンセに頼りがちな昨今のバンドと違い、あくまでギターサウンドにこだわる姿勢が硬派でよいのだ。
演奏においては、とくにドラムの凄さがバンドの核になっていて、7分、8分という曲でも
ダレることなく聴けるのは、パワフルな勢いと強固な構築力とがあるからだろう。
また、曲によってピアノやストリングス、アコギなどの音色を効果的に挿入するなど、
ドラマ性の点でも聴かせどころを増やしていて、激烈なパートをひときわ際立たせている。。
ボーナスDVDには、インタビューやドキュメンタリー、アルバムメイキングなどを収録。

5.0 out of 5 stars SATYRICONに継ぐブラックメタルアクトKEEP OF KALESSIN, 2008/6/22
ノルウェーのブラックメタルアクトKEEP OF KALESSINによる２年ぶりの新作。
前作においても、その卓越した演奏技術に驚いたが、本作もそれは同様で、特にDrumのVYLによるブラストビートは、名手ジーン・ホグランドも真っ青なスピードとリズムキープで正にマシーンそのものの様相を呈している。
そんな本作は１曲目の正に始まり（起源）の意味を持つ静かなインストORIGINで始まり、そこから間髪入れずに高速リフとブラストによるブラックメタルの絨毯爆撃が開始される。
とにかく、どの曲も速い曲ばかりで、全てにドラマティックなメロディが存在しており、５曲目にいたっては、歌メロ自体がキャッチーである。
そして、バンドの中心的存在であるOBSIDIAN.Cのギターが炸裂しているのが、９曲目のASENDANTで、そのソロが切れ込んでくるところなど、思わずガッツポーズを取ってしまうくらい素晴らしさだ。
また、音作りもクリアで質の高いものとなっているが、前作と聴き比べて、やや小さくまとまった感もなくはない。
ちなみに、本作はDVD付となっており、国内メーカーのデッキでも問題なく再生出来た。内容は過去のLiveシーンを含むビハインド・シーンとレコーディング・シーンそして、Live１曲となっている。
ビハインド・シーンでは共演バンドとのスピード・コンテストやツアーのバックステージ等が観ることが出来て結構楽しめたが、Liveは2006年のステージからの様で、前々作で、MAYHEMのATTILAやSATYRICONのFROSTが参加した名盤RECLAIMからCOME DAMNATIONをやっている。ただ残念な事に、演奏と映像がバラバラで、叩いてもいないシンバルが鳴っていたり、歌っていないはずのところで歌が入っていたりして、あて振りではないにせよ（当たり前だが）、もう少し丁寧な作りであってほしかった。
