アーティストについて

1992年より柴山伸二、竹田雅子らによってバンド活動開始。伝統的なフォークサウンドにロック、サイケデリックなどを取り込み、独自の音楽を展開する。音楽だけでなく歌の評価も高い。2001年には、ドミノ・レコーズ傘下のGeographicレーベルからコンピレーション・アルバムがリリースされる。その後も、ニューアルバムが日本だけでなく世界リリースされるなど、幅広く人気を集める。

ああ、渚にてはついにこんな境地にまで辿り着いてしまった……
個人的な感覚で言わせてもらいますが、今までのアルバムがどこか遠くの場所で鳴っているものであるとすれば、
今回のは聴いている僕の頭のなかや心のなかで直接鳴っているかのようで、とても親密。
（ジャケが写真からドローイングに変わったのもそういうことかも……？）
曲の良さが尋常ではないです。そして、それぞれの音の感触がまたたまらない。
柴山さんがギターをつまびく感触が、竹田さんのドラムの独特のリズムが、ものすごくダイレクトに伝わってきます。
だから、「メロディーが」とか「歌詞が」とかではなく鳴らされている音全部に泣けてきます。

ちょっと興奮しすぎているかもしれません。
でもほんとにすごく良いんです。

間違いなく今の渚にては新しい場所に居る。彼らを止めるものはもう何もない。そこは夢の渚ではない。そんな印象を受けた。
「あくる日」のドラムで泣きそうになった。ドラムで人を泣かすことができるんだ。
柴山氏が言うように『よすが』には音楽の秘密がつまっている。

もう戻れない過去への思いをこめて、星４つ。

前回「花とおなじ」で渚にてから少し離れてた方はこれを是非聞いてください。
なぜかこのアルバムは聞いていて心から安堵する、それは柴山氏・竹田氏の声、メロディー、サウンド全ての要素が心地よく豊かに溶け合っているから。キーボードの吉田氏（元羅針盤）が良い仕事してます・・・オススメ！
