最近、平野綾から離れていた。そのセンスにひかれた時期もあったが、その後フェイドアウト。シングルもスルー。満を持してアルバムが出るということで、本作でご無沙汰の接触となる。

プロデュースワークに大きく左右される(いわゆるアイドルの)アルバムは音楽的コンセプトや流れが薄い大味なものが多く、好みではない。それが良いか悪いかは置いといて、このアルバムもその類。正直アルバムとしての期待はない。 ただ、買おうと思ってしまったのも事実。未だ平野綾の才能への興味は残っていたということだ。 と、前置きを書いてから再生。


聴き終えて、率直に感想を言えば、思っていたより全然良かった。適度なカッコよさがあるが、軽いロックに傾倒するわけでもなく、ポピュラーソングとして聴かせる。色々振り幅を見せるのに、意外に整理されている。曲の並びも良い、シングルサイズばかり並んで間延びすることも少なかった。歌も自分らしく巧く歌えている。バラバラのものがまとまると、声を使い分けることで逆に芯がブレてしまうものだが、ひとつの個性としてコントラストを感じる。なんだか誉め言葉ばかり浮かぶ。
後は歌詞。もっとぶっ飛んだものを書ける気がする。音にしても「明日のプリズム」のような分厚いパワーがもっと欲しかった。やはり大味感は多少あり、トータルタイムも長めに感じた。

総評すれば、ポップアルバムとして非常に良作。期待値を大きく越えた。特にファーストアルバムとして素晴らしいと思う。
だがまだ行けるはず。この完成度に納まってしまうのは勿体ない。これからもっと広がるはず。カワイイとかカッコイイだけでない、真似できないものへと。

しかし、まずは満点。

1stから6thまでのシングルが収録されたファン待望の1stアルバム。

全体を通してみると、シングル曲に限らずカップリングやオリジナル曲を多数収録したバラエティに富んだ楽曲、構成でありアルバムとしての完成度は高い。
歌唱力が上がっていることは当然ながら平野綾といえば涼宮ハルヒというイメージを一転し「平野綾」という個人のアルバムとしての完成度に驚かされる。

又、この一枚のアルバムの中で彼女の成長、模索が見てとれる。
初期のシングル曲から聞き比べると分かるが今作に収録されたシングルで枚数を重ねる毎にやや控えめだった歌い方が、徐々に緊張や硬さが取れた歌い方に変化していく。
そして、彼女自身の現在のスタンスに至るポップからロックへの路線変更が行われている。

歌い手としてはまだ未熟であるといえるかもしれない。
しかしこのアルバムを経て平野綾としての土台ができた今、彼女の次なる一手に是非とも注目せずにはいられない。

ファーストアルバムとは、いうが、
すでに、それなりのキャリアがあるせいか、
初々しさは感じられない。
曲よし、歌唱力よし、歌いっぷりも堂々たるモノで、
文句の付け所も特にないのだが、
全体的に「普通」というか、なんというか・・・
ちょっと「物足りなさ」を感じたのは、私だけ？

収録内容を見ると、ベスト盤的なモノな所もあるし、
はじめての人には、おすすめ出来るかもしれんが・・・
