安富祖貴子さんの３rdアルバム。前作に比べて、よりファンキーな仕上がり。勿論、歌詞の解釈や唱法もたいへん素晴しく「If You Love Me」「Cry Me A River」などのラブ・ソングでも彼女の持ち味であるアーシーな歌声と女性らしい細やかな情感を上手く融合させ見事な出来ばえ。「Danny Boy」は深くて大きな愛をスケール豊かに歌い上げた安富祖貴子さんならではの絶唱。

サッパリ系白人ヴォーカルのような歌い方全盛の日本人女性ヴォーカルに挑むがごとく「真っ黒」「ブルージー」なヴォーカルを聴かせる安富祖の新盤。もともとＲ＆Ｂ系の歌手だったようだが、このアルバムはＲ＆Ｂ調を前面に押し出している。日本人とは思えない敦賀明子のオルガンを入れるなどアルバムの「作り」も丁重。日本を代表するベーシスト井上陽介のアレンジもいい。サマータイム、ハーレム・ノクターンなど、実に濃厚な歌い方。シャンソンの「愛の賛歌」まで、Ｒ＆Ｂになってしまうのは、安富祖の「ＤＮＡ」だ。特に１１曲目の「あなたは愛を知らない」を聴くと、心の奥底が震えてくる。昨今の白人ヴォーカルのような日本人歌手が軽薄に聞こえてくる。じっくり聴きたい一枚。当然の★★★★★（松本敏之）
