ブライアンがどんどん制作意欲を喪失していった（というか廃人に向かっていた）時代に、他のメンバーがなんとかビーチボーイズの維持（意地）をかけてあの手この手をつくして頑張って作り上げた作品。特筆すべきは１曲目のボーカル（誰だと思います？）です。ロックぽく、元気溢れております。これはこれなりにいい作品だと思います。やはり兄弟の絆は強かった。

６８年発表の１８作目。一曲目のオルガンが思いっきりサイケ臭く、そして全体的にはＲ＆Ｂ色が強いと言う最もビーチボーイズらしくなく、その反面かなり意欲的とも言えるアルバムなんだけど、かなり評価の別れるアルバムでしょうね。私の場合はビーチ・ボーイズのアルバムとしてよりもソフト・ロック周辺の音楽として聞くことが多く・・・実際に曲そのものは素晴らしいものが結構含まれているし実際に１．や６．がヒットした・・・ビーチボーイズを聞こう！！と思った時に聞くアルバムではないですね。ビーチボーイズのファンの人であれば、「このアルバムは嫌いだ」とハッキリ言う人の方が信じられるくらいです。あくまでも本道ではない、しかし意欲的な姿勢を持ったポップスのアルパムとして聞くべき作品。もっとも思いっきりビーチボーイズらしいア・カペラ曲１１．や名曲６．が入っているので外せる訳がないアルバムなんですけれど。私はこのアルバム、大好きです。
