以前、佳孝さんのライブに行った時、
アンコールで「スローなブギにしてくれ」と「モンローウォーク」を
歌ってくれました
本編ではなかったので、サービスだったんだと思うのですが

デビュー３５周年のセルフカバーアルバムは、
もちろんその２曲を含むシングル中心の選曲で、大サービスですね

昔から、大人でカッコいい音楽だったけど、一層渋くてボサノバチック、
と思ったら、ブラジル録音でした

暑い夏の窓辺に、響かせてみたい、そんな一枚です

ファンにとってはお馴染みの曲が並びますが、どの曲もオリジナルに比べゆったりテンポでくつろげる内容になってます。
シンプルなアレンジは、楽曲の良さを際立たせて秀逸。職人の技があちこちに感じられ幸せな気分に浸れます。
でも、スローなブギにしてくれは、本来のハードボイルドなイメージが薄れてちょっと拍子抜け。その分星は４つということで。

セルフカバーというものは、難しいものだ。
自分で既に作ったものを再表現するのであるから
余程のものでない限り、ファンは聞き慣れた
今までの曲が良く聞こえてしまう。

本作では、リズムにおされて南佳孝氏本来の
声の良さが十分に活かされていない曲があり
残念な点が残る。
