この2枚組ＣＤは1978年に発表されたライヴ・アルバム：偉大なる聴衆へ〜カンサス・ライヴのリリース30周年を記念して発売された2枚組のレガシー・エディションのようです。
ネットで確認したところ、以前に2in1でＣＤ化された際には収録時間の関係からカットされていた“Closet Chronicles”もオリジナルＬＰ通りの曲順で収録されるいる完全版だそうです。素晴らしい！
更にボーナス・ディスクには、その当時の未発表ライヴ音源が収録されているそうです。更に素晴らしい！
カンサス全盛期の演奏を是非ご堪能下さい。以上

誰もが絶賛するライブアルバム。ライブならではの曲の構成が特にたまりません。彼らのあらゆる引き出しを駆使し、心憎い曲の組み合わせを演出しています。特に11から12へのつなぎなど、もう正直にかっこよすぎて言葉にならないほどです。静寂の中から浮かび上がるバイオリンの響きと、これをつなぎこむドラムとベースのリズム。切り込むギターの感動的な音色は彼らの最高傑作である”Wall”を更に引き立てる効果を生み出しています。このライブを聞き、スタジオ盤を聴く。そしてライブ盤を聴きなおすと、なおさら新たな感動が生じてきます。カンサスの存在はアメリカンプログレハードロックというジャンルを超えた音楽界の財産と言っても過言ではないかもしれません。

　アナログレコード発売当時、２枚組の値段は高校生の私には高価だったのですが小遣い貯めて買いました。買ってよかったと思いました。名曲「The Wall」もスタジオ盤よりかっこよかった。「Icarus--」も絶対このLIVE盤のほうが完成度が高いと思います。カンサスはプログレじゃないとか難しい事を言う人がいますが、そんな事どうでもいいです。すばらしいバンドだったと思います。

　１点だけ残念なのはＣＤ化により２枚組であったのが１枚になり１曲省かれている事です。ぜひ、２枚組ボーナストラック付きリマスター盤で再発してほしいと願っています。
