このアルバムに期待している方はおそらく色々な音楽に精通している人が多いと思います。で、わたしもその一人なわけですがすごく良いアルバムです。
セッションのいい雰囲気とスリリングなドラミング、ゲスト達の素晴らしい演奏が楽しめるお買い得な一品です。
願わくばもう少しハードなファンクとかへの冒険をして欲しかったところですが。
ドラマーのみなさんは必須アイテム。というか楽器弾かない人が聞いてもジムのすごさは伝わるアルバムかと思います。ちなみにわたくしはCharの大ファンですが今回はCharとJeffBeckではない方のブルージーなギターと小島氏のKeyが非常に良かったと思います。Char好きな方はジムの違った一面も見られるのでマストアイテムかと。何年後かにまた作って欲しいなーこーユーアルバム。

ドラマーのソロアルバムですが主役は「曲」であり
１trackドラムソロがあるものの、ジムのルーツと今を伝える
肩の力が抜けた良いアルバムだと思います。
へヴィなRockではなくSoul Rock,Blues Rock,Funk Rockと多種多彩。
管もスタックスを思わせるアレンジだったりしてニヤリ。

ただヴォーカルが。
やっぱりUKソウルになっちゃうんですね。
どこかフェイクというか。こ洒落た感じに小さくまとまっちゃう。
昔ACID JAZZブームの頃にも感じた、あの感じ。
１曲でポールジャクソンがヴォーカルをとっていますが
差は歴然。本物はやっぱり熱さが違うと感じました。

対して参加ギタリストのプレイには聴き所満載で
特にジェフベックのこんなプレイは他では聴けないでしょう。
自宅で楽しんでプレイしているかの様です。

ポールジャクソン、小島氏のプレイも必聴です。
そういえば、これも１０数年前の話,ヘッドハンターズが
再結成した頃の話ですが
Char,ハービーハンコック他参加のポールジャクソン
ソロアルバムはリリースされないまま。
確かP-Vineだったと思いますが.....
リリースを切望します。

２００８年リリース・・・私的にはＵＰＰ・サイケデリックスのドラマー：ジムコウプリーの初ソロアルバム。ＥＤＯＹＡからのリリースと言う事で、結構Ｃｈａｒがバックアップしたと思います。内容としては、気心知れたミュージシャンと楽しみながらセッションして制作したアルバム・・・サウンドは、渋いブルーズロック（笑）が基本です。ジェフベック・Ｃｈａｒ・元ホワイトスネイクの３パターンが、セッションの中心になっていますよ・・・フレンズなギタリストは、前述したジェフ・Ｃｈａｒそしてバーニーマースデンそしてミッキームーディ（ツインの共演はなし）。やっぱり特筆すべきは、ジェフベック参加の１曲目＆８曲目・・・このニュアンスは、素晴らしいの一言です（渋いけど、カッコよすぎ！！）。Ｃｈａｒとの曲は、安定感抜群でこれまた素晴らしいです・・・ポールジャクソン（Ｂ）とのリズムセクションは、グルーヴ感が見事！！一度Ｃｈａｒのコンサートでジムのドラミングを観ましたが、とってもタイトでパワフルで歌心あるものでした・・・ジェフベックが気軽に参加してくれるのが、なんか良くわかるよなあ！！リラックスして聴ける、とっても大人なアルバム・・・オススメ！！ＤＶＤがまたいいので、お金に余裕あれば・・・Ｃｈａｒ＆フレンズ化になってますが（笑）。
