5.0 out of 5 stars とっつきにくいヴァンの、ポップな傑作、まさに完璧！, 2008/6/26
　前作「Astral Week」〜次作「His Band And Street Choir」と連なる、ワーナー時代の３作は、ヴァンの長いキャリアの中で最も脂が乗り切っていた時代。今回リマスター版がこの値段で登場だ。“孤高の人”とのイメージが強く、とっつきにくい印象のヴァンだが、今作は適度にポップな作風が印象的で、ヴァンを初めて聴く人はこのアルバムから入るといいだろう。

　前作ではジャズ畑のセッション・ミュージシャンが奏でる音世界が特徴的だったが、今作は管楽器を多用した、全体的に泥臭くもぬくもりのあるＲ＆Ｂテイストの演奏中心で、それがまたヴァンのソウルフルなボーカルにマッチして、親しみやすい作品に仕上がっているね。

　軽快なジャズ・フィーリングが楽しい、ヴァン流ダンスチューン（2）、ファルセットを多用したゴスペル風名バラッド（3）、ライブで映えそうな力強い（4）などなど、いずれ劣らぬ名演・名唱の名曲ばかり！　40年近く前の作品なのに、もはやため息しかでないよ（笑）。
