今月の「ブルース＆ソウル」を見て購入しました。これから一部で小さな盛り上がりを見せそうな「弁ブルース」の先駆けとなりそうな作品です。言葉に関しては、子供時代ネイティヴに近い言葉を話していたので、記事やライナーにあるようには解らないと言うことは全くなく、違和感なくすっと聞けますし、なにより語りを成立させるユーモアが随所に散りばめられていて、沈んだギターの音色とのバランスが絶妙でした。しかし、角打って本当に知らないんでしょうか。異なる言い方をするだけで、東京とかにもあるんじゃないでしょうか。ただ、寡聞にして自分は知りませんが、ジャケットにあるような「鳥の足」なんかより、角打というと、子供の行く駄菓子屋にある甘辛く煮た３０円くらいのイカの串ってイメージです。自分がよく利用する角打は、向かい合った九州大学医学部と福岡県庁のちょうど真ん中にあって、そこの職員や学生たちと、いわゆる「角打ちっぽい」人たちが仕事帰りに肩を並べて飲んでいる、見ようによってはちょっとシュールな空間です。

かつてライトニン大内とライトニンホプキンスの弾き語りブルースをやっていたころ、中央線のブルースバーでなんどか聞いたことがある。いつの日からか名前もあらため自分の出身地、九州、日田弁でブルースを歌いだしたらしい。この日田弁、実に曲にはまっている。だまって聞いていると英語に聞こえてくるから不思議。

歌詞もギャンブル好きのおやじや初恋の話、ナンパした青春時代のことなど実にゲットーのブルースの世界に通じる生活感溢れたなまなましいものだ。わからない歌詞も対訳付きのブックレットで楽しめる。

ライナーによるとタイトルの角打（かくちと発音）とは北九州では酒屋での立ち飲みのことをいうらしく、ちょっとグロなジャケはその角打の定番つまみの鳥の足だそうだ。朝鮮半島に通じる文化を感じる。

ライトニン節がうなる「角打ブルース」ではレコーディングを担当した吾妻光良氏が酒屋のおやじ役で登場。また「タップでナンパ」ではブラインドブレイクを弾き語りながらタップを踊るローンウルフ造田がタップで参加している。日田特産のきのこを題材にしたホーカム調の「パパとナバブギ」では彼のフォーキーな側面も見え楽しい曲。「さかなの唄」につづく「きのこ唄」がスーパーニ流れる日を楽しみにしてよう。

日本にもいるんだな。ライトニン・ホプキンス。
１曲目の「オヤジブギ」からライトニン節が炸裂。しかもわざわざ無理してブルースっぽい声を出さずに自然な感じがまた良い。
思わずへへへっとうれしくニヤついてしまった。
私のように１曲目から、このようになった方もたくさんおられるだろうと思う。
聴き進めて、「タップｄｅナンパ」辺りになると、こちらも最高潮。
実に楽しく聴かせて頂きました。
