アッシャーは大好きだけど今回のアルバムはだめだ。　

私はまだアッシャーには口が悪くて遊び人のアイドルとして、そしてダンサーとして歌って欲しかった。
結婚して、子供ができたアッシャーは普通のシンガーになってしまったんだろうか、もうアッシャーはクリス・ブラウンにでも自分の座をゆずるつもりなんだろうか。

私は全体的に評価が高すぎると思う、ファンの人たちはこんなアルバムが聞きたかったの？私はMoving MountainsのPVを見たときショックだった。踊らないアッシャーなんて望んでないし、こんなアルバム望んでないよ・・・。

スーパースター、特にダンス系のスターは３０歳になるとマイナーチェンジーというか、
大人っぽい路線に行く人が多いような気がします。
正直言うと、面白くなかった。ただはやりのプロデューサーでがちがちに固めて持前の歌唱力
で乗り切ったという印象。ネタ切れなんでしょうね。けして悪いことではないし、
ジャスティンティンバーレイクやクリスブラウンも将来同じような壁にぶち当たると思います。　彼らの作った流れを後追いしてる感もいやですね。マドンナと同じで期待してたが、
自分にはパンチがかけました。マイケルも３０代はがっつり踊ってることだし、個人的には次で戻してほしいなと思います。

今回のアルバム、わかり易いアップ・ナンバーが比較的少なめで、非常に大人っぽいアルバムだなという印象を受けました。
これだけ聞くと（地味なアルバムなのかな？）と思わせてしまったかもしれませんが、そうではありません。
近年のR&Bのトレンドでもあるトランス/テクノの要素を取り入れたサウンドを、スムーズなメロディーにのせて歌い上げている【２、Love In This Club】
この曲と合わせて１つのストーリーを構成していて、【２】の続編であり、セカンド・シングルに予定されている【５、Moving Mountains】では一変して、繋ぎ止めたい恋愛を綴ったメロウな曲を切ないUSHERの声が歌い上げています。
更に【２】にBEYONCEとLil Wayneを迎えたリメイク・バージョンの【１７、Love In This Club part.2】は曲調もメロウにアレンジされていて、個人的には【２】よりも好みです。
他にも、Ne-Yoとの絡み等で今旬のプロデュースチーム、スターゲイトがプロデュースしているスロウナンバー【１２、His Mistakes】同じくスターゲイトプロデュースのミディアムナンバー【１４、What's A Man To Do】、ゲストにWill.I.Am【６】やJay-Z【１０】を迎える等、アルバム全体もバラエティー的に満足のいくものに仕上がっており、「踊れるアップ・ナンバー」を過剰に期待しなければ、存分に満足できる作品だと思います。
今年の10月に30歳を迎える、「大人のUSHER」が４年ぶりに素晴らしいアルバムを届けてくれた事を心から感謝しています。
