１９８０年１２月８日　　この日がなければなければよかったのに、そう思う反面なぜそうなったのか知りたくもあった。

映画はセミドキュメンタリーのように犯人の独白をバックに淡々と進む
パラノイアである犯人は「他人をひがんで」「自己弁護して」「他人のせいに」する
大金持ちが「財産なんてないと想像してごらん」という事が我慢できなかった

何が起こるかは知っていたがやはりその瞬間はショッキングだった

興味深いが、後味の悪い映画だ

　映画で観る限りチャップマンは普通の人間に見える。チャップマンを演じた俳優がわざとそうしたのか役作りをしなかったのかはわからない。僕はチャップマンはもっと奇妙な人間であると思っていたのでそこでギャップがあった。でもチャップマンを精神鑑定した数々の医者が同じことを言ったことがないようにチャップマンには複数の顔があるようにも感じられる。ジョン・レノンにサインをもらったかと思ったら彼を殺してしまう。普通の人間とは思えない。でも彼を理解する上で一つのヒントをもらえる映画だと思う。
　ジョン・レノン殺害に至った最後の３日間を描いた『チャプター２７』という映画も観たけれどこちらはチャップマンが奇妙な人間として描かれている。どちらが本当で真実に近いかと考えると答えに窮してしまう。でもチャップマンという人間を知る上での問題提起として価値ある作品だと思う。

1980年12月8日ジョン・レノンは射殺された。
40才であった。
ジョン・レノンは多くの者にとって理想的な神である。神を殺した男のドキュメント。
神は民衆に全てをさらしてはならない。神の妻　オノ・ヨーコは神を民衆の中に入らそうとした。
神の生まれた英国ではなく、米国に。
神の住みし場所はたちまちわかった。
地球上から　人間と称する生き物が集まる場所。
神が　自らを人間と思っている限り　そのような場に出るのは慎重を要する。
しかし、いつか出るようになった。
ジョン・レノンを外に出したのはオノ・ヨーコであった。
そして主人公は神を殺した。
計画的に。
終身刑で刑務所の特別個室で過ごしているのだろう。
殺したのは　ジョン・レノンを神と思い、地球を支配することができると思い込んでいた。
一人の天才を殺した男の物語。
人は　狂人が　天才を殺してしまったと言い続けるであろう。
残念無念。
