内容紹介

「物語音楽」という新しいジャンルを確立した、Sound HorizonのサウンドクリエイターRevoと、個人プロジェクト「FictionJunction」や、劇場版「空の境界」主題歌プロジェクト「Kalafina」をヒットさせている梶浦由記による夢のコラボマキシシングル。
参加メンバーは、Sound Horizonと梶浦由記プロジェクトから数名が参加する、スペシャルユニット。

「砂塵の彼方へ…」
作詞作曲はRevoと梶浦由記の共同制作ですが、編曲をRevoが担当しているためRevoのソロワークス
（リヴァイアサンおよびガンスリンガーガールイメージアルバム、霜月はるかとのコラボなど）の民族音楽風の楽曲に近いものを感じました。

メロディに関しては、前半は梶浦由記の色が濃く、特にサビの最後「fly me……」はこれぞ梶浦節とでも表現したくなる音の伸び方。
一方、後半の転調はいかにもRevo節とでも呼びたくなる明るい曲調。
インディーズ時代の楽曲「ハジマリのクロニクル」のメロディアスな明るさを彷彿とさせる展開です。

また、Revoの独特の弦楽器の使い方は今作でも健在ですし、曲冒頭にはSEも挿入されています。
梶浦由記が担当したコーラスがボーカルをしっかりと支え、音の厚みを増しています。

Revoと梶浦由記がメインボーカルを担当しているパートもあり、技巧的にはまだまだですが人好きのするRevoの歌声と、透き通った美しい梶浦由記の歌声を聴くこともでき
Revo、梶浦由記個人の双方のファンが楽しめる楽曲となっています。

ただ、歌詞のほうはというと、Sound Horizonのような高いストーリー性を持つ楽曲ではありませんので、物語の考察が成立するかは微妙なところでしょうか
おおまかなストーリーはありますが、抽象的なモノローグがほとんどです。
しかし困難な道を歩みながらその先に希望を求めるその内容と、メロディが絶妙にリンクしており、これは見事としか言いようがありません。
SHは好きだがソロワークスには興味がない方、SHの作風で躊躇っている梶浦由記ファンの方も一聴の価値ありです。

「sand dream」
梶浦由記が音作りすべてを手がけた「砂塵の彼方へ…」アレンジ版。
彼女お得意の「造語多重コーラス」が惜しげもなく曲の大部分に注ぎ込まれています。
コーラス担当は貝田由里子と梶浦由記。「梶浦語」曲が好きな方は大満足の出来でしょう。
哀愁のあるフルートはじめ、各楽器の音も本当に心地良く感じられます。


総評としては、これこそがコラボだ！と拍手喝采したくなる素晴らしい仕上がり。
付属のDVDではライブのみの参加だった笠原由里、YUUKAのコーラスが聴けますし、マキシと同サイズの写真集もついてきます。
さらに特製ボックスが凝っていて、CDケースを引き出すと、ボックスの内側でチェス盤を挟んで座る両氏の写真が。
楽曲は2曲と少な目ですが、十分価格に見合った満足が得られると思います。

「注意点」
・Jimangは今回のCDには不参加です。DVDでは映っています。恐らくコーラスパートのみ参加。
・紙製のボックスのため、開封時に紙が折れる可能性が高いです。

超独特で異彩を放つSound HorizonとしてのRevoは抑え気味ではあるが、
Revoらしさというのは1曲目に強く表れている。
現代のオーケストラともいうべき大編成で奏でられる音楽に
迫力は有り余るほど。ボーカル陣も大勢いるため、なおさらだ。
イメージとしては「霧の向こうに繋がる世界」の雰囲気を
より力強く、深くしたような感じ。ミドルテンポだが、音が溢れるようだ。

1曲目に挿入される合唱の音（コード）の取り方は
梶浦が得意とする手法で、Revoファンには新しい一面を見れるし、
梶浦ファンには嬉しい演出だろう。

ノンストップで２曲目に移行するが、イントロのフルートが入った瞬間から、
梶浦節が炸裂。無国籍ノンジャンルでありながら、
空間と音の響きが絶妙で、どこか憂いを秘めた旋律作りは天下一品だ。

２人が手を組むことで、まったく新しい音楽ができた、というよりは
それぞれが培ってきた個性が、美しく収束したというイメージ。
従来の２人の楽曲を好んでいる人には、受け入れやすいのではないだろうか。

まずはパッケージが凄いですね。
店頭でもかなり異彩を放ってました。
内容も凄いです。
ヴァイオリンが奏でる旋律が異国の雰囲気を演出し、ヴォーカル7人という豪華さもあり凄くいい感じです。
とりあえず、一回、二回聴いて理解できちゃう最近流行りの曲ではないでしょう。
それはつまり、長く聴ける曲という事です。
この旋律と存在感は間違いなく記憶に残ります。
