別れの季節はまた出会いの季節でもあって、めぐる季節のように私たちもまた誰かと近づいたり遠ざかったりしながら生きていくものです。
｢春隣｣では、他人と距離を置き、生きてゆくことの寂寥を根底に持ち続けながらも、他者との関わりにわずかな希望をすくい取ってゆこうという、彼女なりの人生観を映したものになっていると思います。
聴いていると喪失の中に突然の充足感が去来し何故だか心がほどけていきます。
これが彼女の持ち味のひとつなのではないでしょうか。

アレンジは春らしくさわやかに、さらりとしてはいますがボーカルを邪魔しないつくりになっていると思います。
私はこの作品以前の、ひとつひとつの音の輪郭が際立っていて奥行きのあるアレンジも好きでそれが彼女の個性のひとつと捉えていましたが、この音が彼女の選択した現在の音なのだからそれでよくて、いままでとは違う熊木杏里をもっと聴かせてほしいと思っています。

｢時の列車｣では、ほんの少し先のことに対する不安感とそれを打ち消してゆく、かつての出来事たちへといたずらに思いを馳せてゆく様子が、ひとり列車に揺られる姿と重ねられ、現在彼女を先へ先へと進ませているはずの目には見えない強い引力の所在が描かれているように思います。
たゆたうメロディーが清廉な薄い霧のように立ちこめる、彼女の曲の中でも特に美しい楽曲だと思います。

｢時計｣はどっしりと大地を踏みしめながら進んでいくように、ゆっくりと鼓動を刻んでいくように生まれ変わっています。
ある意味、本当に良いものとは時を経て色褪せていくほどに、その深み味わいを増してゆくものなのではないでしょうか。
歌詞の中で命をなくしたと歌われていた｢時計｣も、静かにその時を刻んできたのだと思います。
そして、Saturday Sun／Nick Drakeを彷彿するアレンジが一際秀逸です。

すごく沁みる。ものすごく好き、だけどもしかしたら、この世では二度と会えないかも
しれない。そういう人って、いますよね。人として生を受け、何十年か生きていれば。
僕もいます。でも、この地球上で会えたことだけで、ものすごいことなんだ。いつか
必ず、また、きっと、どこかで会えるよね。そうひたすら信じること。この世では、ずっと
寄り添って生きることはできなかったかもしれないけど、ずっと昔から、あなたのことは
知ってるし、たぶん生まれ変わっても、またきっと顔を合わすんだろうなぁ、って
まあ微妙に寂しいんだけど、でも前を向いて、涙を拭いて、しっかりと生きるよ。
あなたに負けないように。

そんなメッセージがびんびん伝わってくる歌ですね。

この熊木杏里というアーティストはどこまで深くなっていくのだろう。
