書いてきた曲がヒットしまくりだったので(アッシャー“Yeah!”、ファーギー“London Bridge”、クリスブラウン“Run It!”etc…)このアルバム自体もセンスあるトラックと歌で仕上がってます。

でもこの人自体が独特の美声かとか言ったらそうでも無いです。

悪くないのですがそれなら、他のアーティストに曲を提供していれば良かったのでは?という感じ。


結局良くも悪くも好み次第ですが、自分はショーンの声に何か物足りなさを感じました。

数々のヒット曲を手がけ，既に一流ソング･ライターの仲間入りを果たしていたショーン・ギャレットがアーティスト･デビュー。ワイルドな雰囲気のジャケットそのままにスリリングでドラマテッィクな展開あり，胸に染みるメロウ･チューンありのバラエティに富んだ内容。ｂｍｒ誌の取材で「マイケル･ジャクソンの『Off　The　Wall』を目指した」とコメントしていたのも納得の会心作だ。
悪夢にうなされ思わず目を覚ますイントロ。その不穏な空気を引きずりながら始まる「What　You　Doin’ With That」はシリアスなシンセ･ビートに,甘美で幻想的なメロディーが絡むグルーヴィーなアップテンポ。AKONが参加した「Come On In」はメロウで感傷的なスムーヴ。ドネル･ジョーンズが好きな人ならお勧め。しかし，この手のナンバーならリュダクリスを起用したリード・シングル「Grippin‘」が秀逸。Ne-Yoも顔負けの郷愁を誘うメロウ･チューンだ。ワイルドなジャケットとは裏腹にNe-Yo系の繊細で甘美なヴォーカルが魅力的で，メロウ・チューンは総じて高水準。クールでメロウなアップテンポ「Lay Up Under Me」，夢見心地なスロー「On The Hood」，爽やかだが感傷的な「Patron」もいい。ただ，単なるメロウ･チューンに終わらないのがこの人の間口の広さ。メロディアスだが，ハードなギター･ソロを交えた「Why」や,ナイト･ミュージックの定番のような予定調和ではあるものの正統派バラード「One Day」などといったナンバーを紡ぎ上げるあたりはさすが。
これは間違いなく2008年を代表するアルバムの１つ。是非ご一聴を。

私は彼の涼しげな声にとても魅力を感じます。マイケル・ジャクソンの”Off The Wall"に通じていると本人が言っているだけのことはある、マスター・ピースです！どの曲もクォリティは非常に高いですが、ラストの曲は美しいのひとこと！キュートな声が、曲の美しさを引き立てています。ジャケット写真はいかつい感じですが、笑顔もキュートです！
