全５話構成。第１話はチュートリアル的存在であっという間に終わってしまうが、あとの４話はけっこうなボリュームがある。
それぞれで１話完結だが、第１話〜４話までが大きな１つの話になっている。第５話は追加された新シナリオということもあり、割と外伝的なシナリオ。

探偵パートで証言や証拠品を探し出し、法廷パートで証人の証言の矛盾を暴く。基本的にこの繰り返しなので、いかにも単調作業くさそうで、面白さが伝わりにくいかもしれない。
しかし実際にやってみると、全く単調作業くささがない。探偵パートは、随所に小ネタを挟んでプレイヤーにマンネリを感じさせない配慮が伺える。
本作の醍醐味でもある法廷パートは、矛盾を追及する推理の面白さだけでなく、爽快感まで味わえる。「待った」「異議あり」「くらえ」などで、相手を追い詰める快感がたまらないのだ。

詰まるといつまでも先に進めないことがあるので注意。簡単な見落としをしているだけなのだが、全ての証拠品を揃えないと先に進めないというシステム上、詰まるのが嫌いだとストレスを感じるかもしれない。
第５話では証拠品を「調べる」ことや、ルミノール試薬やアルミ粉を用いた「科学捜査」が可能。DSの機能を無理に使おうとした感じがしなくもないが、けっこう面白いので気にしない者勝ち。
英語表記モードが用意されているのはいいのだが、それよりもサウンドモードや一枚絵を閲覧するモードが先ではないだろうか。BGMが良かっただけに非常に残念。
２周目以降は、既に１度謎が解けているだけにサクサク進めるが、さすがに展開が分かっているだけに、あまり驚きはない。

秀逸なシナリオ・キャラクター性・演出・BGMが、「弁護士」という素材を存分に活かし切っているとても良い作品だった。
どちらかと言うと、コントローラーをガチャガチャ言わせる派手な動きを好む「ゲーム好き」より、小説の展開が気になってしょうがないような「読書家」に向いているゲームかもしれない。かぶりつきでゲームに熱中してしまうだろう。
そしてもう１つ注目すべきは値段。この満足度でこのお値段、良い買い物をしたと言わずにはいられない。

子供から借りて、珍しくゲームをしてみたのですが、これが意外にオモシロくてハマってしまいました。謎解きもおもしろいし、会話や展開のテンポがすごくいいんです。兼価版ということで、値段もおてごろ。シリーズものらしいので、他のもプレイしてみたいです。

もはや言わずと知れた名作となりつつある「逆転裁判」シリーズですが、
こちらはその原点のDS移植版です。
初めて私がこのシリーズに手をつけたのは小学校4年頃で、あっさり躓いて
途中で投げ出してしまったのですが、DS版、しかも兼価版が出たということで
迷った末購入。...うん、いい買い物しました！他の皆さんも書いていらっしゃる通り
魅力的なキャラクターたち、引き込まれるストーリーに加え操作はいたって簡単！とくれば
もういうことなしでしょう。DS版として第5章が追加されており、その中では
ルミノール試験薬を使って血痕を調べたり、アルミ粉を使って指紋検出をしたりできる
「科学捜査」という機能が加わり、これがまた面白いのです。
子供向けの物だと思って見くびることなかれ。意外と難しいです。後の章になればなる程
難易度とストーリーの長さが増していきます。小さい子供一人でやるにはちょっと難しい
かも？そういうときは親子で一緒にプレイして下さい。多分親がはまります。笑
GBA版と比較すると、グラフィックも美しくなっており、既にGBAをプレイされた方にも、
そうでない方にもお勧めします。
「逆転検事」をやる前に必ずプレイしてください。より一層楽しめること間違いなしです。
