普段の持ち歩き用として、高感度撮影や風景撮り等でもそこそこ使えるコンパクト・デジカメを探していましたが、画質面でなかなか満足いくものが見当たらず、(E-500を所有していることもあり) このパンケーキ型レンズにたどり着きました。

画質は、単焦点だからか、かなりしっかりしている印象、解像感も良いと思います。また開放f値が2.8と明るく、14-42mmキットレンズ(25mm付近でf4.7)とは一味違う、被写界深度の浅い絵を撮ることが出来ます。ただ、撮った写真をよく見ると直線がほんの少し歪んで丸くなることがあります。通常、気にならない程度ですが、被写体によって目立ってしまうときは、ボディ付属「オリンパスマスター2」の(レンズ情報による)歪曲自動補正を使うとほぼ改善されます。(この機能…広角好きの私としては、とても助かります) カタログ上、14-54mm(0.26倍)や17.5-45mm(0.23倍)レンズ程寄れない(本品は0.19倍)とありましたが、この点は、私は気になりませんでした。

ボディ(E500)、レンズ、電池等すべて込みで600g程度(E-420ならばさらに軽い)とデジタル一眼レフとしては驚きの軽さですが、この組み合わせで最もアドヴァンテージを感じるのは「形」、ハクバのレンズケース(ssサイズ)にピッタリはまって、とてもデジタル一眼が入っていると思えないコンパクトな形状になるのです！ カバンに入れやすいので、持ち歩くことが多くなりました。
14-42mmや40-150mm(f4-5.6)キットレンズを付けるとコンパクトなデジタル一眼レフ、このパンケーキを付けると大きめのコンデジ、11-22mm竹レンズをつけるとずっしりとした中級機のような風格…E-500シリーズと組み合わせると、全く性格の異なる3タイプのカメラになって、それぞれ魅力的です(実際手に取ると重さも形もだいぶ違います)。これまで使う機会の限られていたデジタル一眼レフの楽しみが一気に広がりました。

「コンデジ」という視点から見ると、まだまだ重いし、現在のボディやレンズキットの価格からは少々敷居が高い感じ、画質面でレンズキットから大幅なレベルアップを望む場合は最善の選択とはいえないかもしれませんが、「大きさ次第で使う機会が増えそうだ」というような場合には、十分検討に値する、お薦めレンズです。

Olympus E-510といっしょに使用しています。

町を歩きながらスナップ写真を撮るのが好きな方には最適ですね！
この単焦点レンズは、ほぼ肉眼で見た街角の様子を撮影することできます。

なによりこの薄さと軽さは、スナップに向いていますね。
コンデジじゃ物足りないけど、本格的な一眼レフは重すぎるしな〜って
お考えのあなたに絶対におすすめしたいです！！

十分なボケが欲しいと思いつつ、SIGMA30mmF1.4では仰々しいと悩む方。
「キットレンズでも時々綺麗なボケが出るから…」と自分を納得させようとしている方。
迷うこと無いじゃないですか。僕らにはZD25があるんです。
他マウントユーザーからも羨まれるレンズがっ!!(^-^)/

絶対お勧めできますよ!!
