アーティストについて

アメリカはヴァージニア州に生まれたシンガー・ソングライター、ジェイソン・ムラーズ。レゲエ、AOR、ジャズ、ヒップホップなどの要素を独自のセンスでMIXしたヴァラエティ豊かなソングライティング能力が魅力の天才シンガーソングライター。サンディエゴに移住後、アコースティック・ギターを片手に本格的に音楽活動をスタートさせ、02年10月に『ウェイティング・フォー・マイ・ロケット・トゥ・カム』でメジャー・デビューを果たす。シングル「レメディ」のヒットにより、アルバムがビッグ・セールスを記録、一躍、スターダムに登りつめる。さらに05年7月にはメジャー第2弾となる『MR.A-Z』も発表、2006年フジ・ロックフェスティバルのグリーン・ステージにも出演し、ジェイソンは名実共に全米を代表するシンガー・ソングライターに躍進した。

前作、前々作はPOPなアレンジでバラエティが豊富でしたが、
今作は、歌、メロディを生かすシンプルでオーガニックな
アレンジになっており、これがいい感じで仕上がってます。
もともと、歌のうまさは抜群な彼ですので、より味わいが
深くなってます。
プロデューサのMartin Terefe は Ron Sexsmith の作品でも
いい仕事をしてましたが、こういったシンプルで味わい深い
SSWたちとは本当にいい仕事をします。
A Beautiful Mess は心にしみました。感動。

I'm yours や Lucky などのヒット曲が入ってます。
全体的に派手さはないです。それでもすべての曲が良いのです。
ロックであり、ポップスであり、レゲエっぽい雰囲気もあり、
お出かけのどんな場面でも家でも聴きたいアルバムの一つです。

過去の作品でその実力は証明済み
ジャンルを超えた音楽性を自分の中で昇華させた希有なシンガーですね
拠点のアメリカ西海岸特有のさわやかさはそのままに
今作で聴き手に安らぎと心地よさを与える力の抜き方をマスターした感じを受けました
ある種の壁を超えたのかもしれません

個々の曲はどれも洗練されて、昨今のアルバム単位でのトータルコンセプトの軽視傾向から良い意味で外れてます
一曲二曲視聴して気に入った方はアルバムごと購入して損はないかと
