「Pyromania」以降、常にセールスを意識した曲作りで、どのアルバムも近年は窮屈なところがあり、またハードロックからどんどん遠ざかっていく感があったが、前作「Yeah! 」が本来のロックバンドとしての姿を取り戻すきっかけになったのでは。個人的には、より完成度の高い「Retro Active 」という印象を持った。全ての曲がコンパクトにまとめられいるが、密度が濃いものなっている。特に、今回サブとヴィヴの曲が印象に残る。また、優れた２人のギタリストがいながら、今まで絡むことが少なかったが、今回は存分にフィルとヴィヴのソロが絡んだ曲もあり、まさにハードロック回帰なアルバムになっている。　もう過去のアルバム云々でなく、これからはこの路線でどんどんやってもらいたい。特典のDVDは、これも珍しく、フィルとヴィヴ（ジョーは音声だけ）二人の解説が中心で、あたりまえだが、二人とも仲がいいところが垣間見えてよかった。

SHM仕様とかDVD付とか売りにしなくともこの音だけで十分ではないかと聴いていて思う。
楽曲の良さはもとよりアレンジ構成が過去の傑作をもしばらく忘れさせてくれそうな作品だと感じた。
昔の作品に似た所もあるが殆どが新デフレパード作品だと言える。
全体にエネルギーに満ちていてハードロックバンドらしさを取り戻した感じだ。
少なくとも今作、私には飛ばしたい曲は皆無と言いたい。
ベストアルバムよりベストしている。
ライブのセットリストをこのアルバムから多く使っても不満などないのではないだろうか。
やはり音楽的欲求を満たしてくれるのは彼らだけ(?)なのだ。
私がやりたいこと聴きたいものは彼らがやってくれる。
素晴らしいブレンドで世界一味わい深いハードロックバンドだ。

｢〜IA｣のアルバムには及びませんが、前作｢X｣とは雲泥の差ではないでしょうか？
何が良いのか？
このアルバムは『ハードロック・ギター・アルバム』になっているからだと思います。
フィルとヴィヴがかなり前面に出ていて
ジョーの歌に負けてないし、LEPPSらしさのあるコーラスとも
対等に渡り合っているし。
“ゴキゲン”なナンバーが沢山あって気持ちイイです。

SHM-CDの良さはあまり実感できませんでしたが
DVDのインタビューや各曲のコメンタリーは興味深くて＋αの要素大有りです！
通常版より絶対こっちがおすすめです！
