おぞましく、怨念・憎悪に満ちた詩世界（それでいて、どこか飄々としたものも感じさせる）。泥臭くてどこか懐かしい、強烈に日本的でオバサン臭い、昭和歌謡・演歌的メロディ。凶子さんの色気と貫禄ある歌唱。それらが抜群の相性で合致し、ちょっとアナクロなハードロックに乗って迫ってくる…要するにいつも通りの犬神サーカス団。期待を裏切らない内容だが、少し食い足りなさが残る気もする作品。ただ、「夕焼け」「欲望」「憑物」は凄く良い。特に「欲望」は、近年の犬神サーカス団の曲の中ではダントツで気に入ってます。
「夕焼け」は息苦しく緊迫した語りで始まり、爆発的に駆けだすスリリングな曲展開。暗い牛小屋に引きずり込まれ、佐吉という男に悪戯され…抵抗し佐吉を殺してしまう。もう村へは帰れない…「幾度も母の名を呼べど、禍つ風にかき消され…」という歌声は激しく胸を打つ。ただ、サビの歌詞で急に話が滑稽になるように感じるのが残念。「欲望」はパワフルな曲調。どぎつく日本的な情念が燃え上がる歌メロ。暴力を振るわれ、それでもアンタを愛してる…破滅的な愛の果てに狂気が目を覚ます。ベッドの中、忍ばせたナイフ、アンタのむきだしの無防備な〜を切り取り、心臓をえぐり…倒錯的な愛に溺れる。表情や手つきまで目に浮かびそうな「削ぎ落とす」「握り潰す」の歌い方はカッコよすぎ！怖すぎ！「捜物」は朗読。楽しい同窓会かと思いきや、私の葬式。表情の変化が見事。「死に損ない狂詩曲」は予想通り、サビが「死に損ない狂詩曲」で終わる。題名を見ただけでピンときます。こういうイマドキ誰もやらないことを堂々とやってしまうのが彼ららしい。リストカットを歌う詩もベタベタです。「憑物」は攻撃的。途中で力をためた後、解き放たれて一気に走り出す終盤が痛快！生きる事の空虚しさに…という歌メロが胸をしめつける。「人面疔」はうさん臭くて良い。人間椅子の「人面瘡」と並べて聞きたい。

　毎度、毎回、ボーカルの凶子さんの声には圧倒されます。
　歌唱力は言うまでもないのですが、今回も鬼気迫る語りをさせたら右に出る者がいないのではと感じさせるほどの表現力と説得力がありますね。
　2曲目の「夕焼け」の序章、4曲目の「捜物」、そして8曲目の「追憶」。このどれもが迫力があり、完全に唄の主人公そのものになっていて、聴く者を切なくさせたり、背筋を凍らせたり。
　中でも特筆すべきは「捜物」で、何故か幼なじみや知り合いが一斉に会いに来てくれ、懐かしがるという内容。でもそれは、自分のお葬式のためで、ようやく自分が死んだことを自覚し、徐々にパニクっていく心状を見事に表現しています！彼女は、ナレーターや声優としても食べていけるほどの恐るべき才能の持ち主です。ある著名人も言われていましたが、「邪馬台国の卑弥呼を彷彿させるカリスマ性」を感じます。

　またどの曲も素晴らしく、何かしていても思わず手を止めて聴き入ってしまうほど。不謹慎で奇矯な愛をメロディに乗せて、完全に大和ロックンロールしてます。
　ラストの「人面チョウ」は楳図かずおのホラーの如く、描写がリアルに目に浮かんできます。額のできものに目･鼻･口が出てきて、あること無いこと喋り出す・・・。おどろおどろしい歌詞と「鎌田行進曲」を匂わせる軽快なメロディがミスマッチで、実にいい味出してます。物凄くインパクトがあり、聴き終えた後も、当分犬神ワールドの余韻に浸れます。ファンの人はもちろん、これから聴いてみようと思う人も、買って損はないと思います。

曲自体のクオリティは文句なしです。

また、アルバムとしての完成度も言う事無しです。

ですが、『この世の終わり』や『道行き』や『花嫁』、『父親憎悪』等の所謂、切ないドラマチック系の曲が皆無なので敢えて☆を1個減らさせていただきました。個人的な好みの問題ですね(笑)

まぁ、形而上のエロス外伝よりは明らかクオリティは高いので、犬神ファンなら買って損は無い逸品かと思われます☆☆
