２０００年以降の音源が多いというものの、一番古い録音が９３年５月１８日、一番新しい録音が２００７年１２月１３日、ライブ会場も南は沖縄から北は札幌、そしてハワイに及び、規模もライブ・ハウスから武道館まで、３人だけの演奏もあれば琉球國祭り太鼓、あるいはBLACK　BOTTOM　BRASS　BANDが加わった大人数のものもある、という具合に、様々な時・場所・演奏形態の楽しい「ごっちゃまぜの」作品。彼らの過去のライブから特筆すべきものをピックアップして、３人による詳しいライナーノーツとともにBEGINの歴史を辿る好企画だ。どのような演奏でも曲に込める一途さは変らない。そこがBEGINの魅力で、ライブで奇跡を生み出す。ディスク１最後の曲での聴衆の合唱、そして震災から間もない９７年９月・神戸でのボブ・ディランの名曲のカバーと直前のMCは感動的だ。「島人ぬ宝」は２バージョン収められており聴き比べが楽しめる。「涙そうそう」も心に染みる快心の出来と言っていいだろう。途中のMCも面白いものが多く、特に戦争で豚がいなくなり食文化の危機に瀕した沖縄に、ハワイへの移住者が豚を贈ったことへの感謝を述べる様が微笑ましい。そういったMCも含めてBEGINの魅力を再認識させてくれる作品だ。

このCDから入ったんですが、僕はBEGINのこと完全に舐めてました。
BEGINってジャンル的にrockじゃないしサブカル要素ないしで、あんまり評価高くないじゃないですか。
だから気付かなかったんですが、これめちゃくちゃいいですよ！
なんせ曲がいいし、声がいいし、演奏もいい！

いかにBEGINが過小評価されているかって事ですね。
音楽ファンなら皆きっと好きになります。
