ベン・シドランの Blue Thumb、Arista 時代の作品は01年に日本のみでＣＤ化されていましたが、今回は紙ジャケでの登場です。
Blue Thumb 移籍後のソロ２作目である本作は、Capitol からのデビュー作『Feel Your Groove』に劣らず名曲揃いの名作と言えます。前半はフリー・ソウル周辺で注目されたメロウな「Chances Are」やソフト・ロックっぽい３曲目などの名曲が続き、６曲目以降はベースのフィル・アップチャーチとＪＢ'ｓのドラマー、クライド・スタブルフィールドの強力なリズム隊によるファンキーなグルーヴ感を持った演奏が聴けます（７曲目のみおそらくライヴ録音でベース、ドラムは彼らではありません）。最後の２曲がインストルメンタルなのも、グルーヴを強化した現われだと言えるでしょう。また、タイトル曲などでのニック・デカロによるストリングスとの相性の良さも抜群です。
ベンはジャズ・フージョンの分野で語られることが多いのですが、ジャズという形式を利用してはいますが、個人的には彼のロック、ブルースを含めた幅広い音楽感に魅力を感じます。60年代に在籍したいたスティーヴ・ミラー・バンドのブルージーな感覚もこの頃の作品にはしっかり反映されています。そういう部分において本作はロック・ファンにもアピールするものがありますし、時代を先取りしたミクスチャー感覚は今の時代でこそ正当に評価されるのだろうと思います。
それにしてもこのアルバムは1972年の作品なんですが、とてもそうは思えないです。恐るべし、ベン・シドラン！
