ルトガー・ハウアー主演でヒットした同名映画のリメイク版。
大学生のジム（ザカリー・ナイトン）とグレース（ソフィア・ブッシュ）が大雨の中ジョン・ライダー（ショーン・ビーン）と名乗るヒッチハイカーを乗せる。
しかし彼は州内を騒然とさせていた連続殺人犯だった・・・
製作がマイケル・ベイなのでアクションは派手。
特にカーアクションは見もの。
ショーン・ビーンも役にはまっていて中々良かった。
Ｂ級感はバリバリ出ていますが俺はＢ級映画が好きなので嬉しかった。
ストーリーもテンポよく進んでいくので観やすい。
ソフィア・ブッシュは気弱なヒロインではなく力強いヒロインだったので好感が持てました。
ただ、オリジナルでは大活躍したジム・ハルジーが情けなかったのがちと残念。
これも時代の流れかな。
近年は女性が強いですね。（バイオハザードやイーオン・フラックスのように）
まあ、俺的にはかなり楽しめました。

それなりに楽しめました。レプリカントのイメージ強かったハウアーと違い、ショーンビーンはリアルな犯罪者みたいでよかったです。オリジナルとは女と男が入れ違ってる展開もデスプルーフっぽくてよかったです。ある意味、こちらのほうが狙ってない分、よりグラインドハウスっぽいかなと思いました。オリジナル版よりも短い１時間３０分に満たない上映時間も最高です。

オリジナル版“ヒッチャー（'８４年）”はサスペンスとしても、アクションとしても大傑作だった。
そして、このリメイク版が公開された初日に見に行ったのだが、あまりにも地味と言うか、
小粒な作品でオリジナルの足元にも及ばなかった。
悪い意味で最近の作品のリメイクと同じ感じがした。

オリジナルのジョン・ライダーを演じたルトガー・ハウアーは、
意味深なサイコ殺人鬼を熱演じていて非常に怖かった。
しかし、ショーン・ビーンはただのサイコ野郎で“自分を止めて欲しい"という気持ちが
微塵も感じられなかった。
また、主役のソフィア・ブッシュはそこそこ頑張っていたが、脇役になってしまった
ジム・ハルジー（ザカリー・ナイトン）はオリジナルの活躍は何処へやら、
全く使えない男に成り下がってしまっていたのは残念である。
そして、１番の問題点は、最近の作品に良くある“驚かせ演出の多用”であると思う。
それもどこでくるかは見え見えなのだ。
これは、ＴＶ畑出身のデイヴ・マイヤーズの力量の無さが原因だろう。

最後に・・・どうした！？エリック・レッド！！
