アーティストについて
2005年、当時はまだドラマーだったエルマノと、ダリオ、ヴァレリオが高校時代に結成していたバンドに、地元ナンバー1の凄腕ドラマーと評判の高かったジャンルカと、若干15歳(!!)ながら、そのエネルギッシュなプレイでメンバーを魅了したファデリコを加え、イタリアはローマで結成されたYour Hero。メタル / ハードコアを通過した攻撃的なサウンドに、心情を抉るスクリーム・パート、キャッチーなフックに満ちた壮大なクリーン・パートをミックスさせたサウンドの確立を目指し、血の滲むようなリハーサルを繰り返していった彼等は、2005年夏には早くも1stデモをレコーディング。このデモをきっかけに、イタリアン・アンダーグラウンド・シーンで徐々に名前が知られるようになると、彼等の名前は、イタリア・パンクシーンの頂点に君臨するVanilla Skyのメンバーの耳にも入り、続く2ndデモでは、Vanilla Skyのヴィンクス、ブライアンの2名によるプロデュースが実現。このデモはイタリア国内に留まらず、国外の数々のレーベルからも注目を浴びるという、予想以上の高い評価を得た。「俺たちの尊敬するバンドと共に仕事をすることで、今までの曲の書き方や演奏について考えさせられたね。音楽に対する全ての見方が変わったといっても過言じゃない。1stデモが別のバンドに聴こえるくらい、2ndデモで俺達は成長を遂げられたよ」(エルマノ)エルマノが語るように、彼等がこのレコーディングによって、作曲面 / 精神面において以前より格段に成長し、自分達の影響源に独自のセンスをブレンドしたオリジナリティを手に入れたことは、日本デビュー盤となる本作「Chronicles Of A Real World」を聴けば明らかだろう。彼等が影響を受けたと公言するUnderoath、Anberlin、Avenged Sevenfold等が持つ、「静と動の融合」=「ラウドかつエッジの効いたサウンドと、誰もが口ずさめるクリーン・パートとスクリーム・パートとの対比」を、先人たちの道をなぞりながらも、あくまでYour Heroのフィルターを通して表現することに成功し、飽和状態に陥ったエモ/スクリーモ・シーンにおいて、抜群の輝きを放つ楽曲群…。そう、このアルバムには、彼等がシーンの新たなヒーローに成りうるだけの可能性が、十二分に詰まっている。
