アーティストについて
2006年の夏にイギリスはリヴァプールで結成されたGo Faster。同郷出身の多くのバンドが60’sからの影響を覗かせる中、Blur、The Strokes、Bloc Party等のバンドからキャッチーなサビを、Talking Heads、XTC、The Futureheads等からはニューウェイブ・パンク・サウンドを、そしてExplosions In The Skyや Sigor Rosからはその壮大な音像を作り出す術を学び、爆発力のある企画外なニューウェイブ・ポップ・サウンドを作り上げていった彼等は、結成から数週間で制作した1stデモを、Radio 1の名物DJ、スティーヴ・ラマックが自身の番組で流し続けたのを機に、音楽情報&コミュニティー・サイトとして人気の高いThis is Fake DIYの立ち上げたレーベルの第一弾バンドとして、シングル「She Starts Monday」でデビュー。この作品が驚異的スピードでソールド・アウトしたことで、より多くのメディアから注目を浴びると、その名は一気に全国へ広まり、The Pigeon detectives、Foals、Good Shoes、The Sunshine Underground、The Teenagers等の人気バンド達とも次々共演。結成から2年足らずでThe WombatsのUKツアー・サポートに大抜擢されるまでの人気バンドへ成長していった。そして2008年3月、今やThe Wombatsに次ぐ“リヴァプールのネクスト・ビッグ・シング”と評されるまでに成長した彼等が、待望の1stフル・アルバムをリリースする。本国UKでは2008年2月にアルバムからの先行シングルをリリースし、発売と同時に初のUKヘッドライナー・ツアーも控えている今、そのブレイクを疑う者は居ないだろう。
