3.0 out of 5 stars ミッキーロークの顔, 2008/11/26
ミッキーロークの顔が凄いことになっています。
ケロイド状に腫れているようにもシリコンのお面で特殊メイクをしているようにも見えますが、
これは整形手術の失敗なのか何か病気の弊害なのか。
その美形で80年代に人気を博した彼とは全くの別人、ナインハーフやエンゼルハートで演じた凛々しき姿の面影もなく、なんだか切なくなってきます。

この作品自体は、とても中学生には見えないマセた美少年がプロのスパイとして活躍するというアイドル映画。ミッキーロークが出演していなければ、こんな映画を観ようとは思わなかった（苦笑）
カーアクションや発破シーンなど結構お金を掛けてあり魅せてはくれますが、CGに見慣れたせいか特に可もなく不可もなく小さくまとまった感もある。

　主人公・アレックスは十四歳という設定でしたが、大人っぽすぎるような気もしました。『高校生』（十七歳くらい）という設定だったら、もっとしっくりきたかもしれません。心の揺れざまだとか、あの年齢・年代にありがちなぶれぐあい、がなかったかなあ、と。原作は未読なので、うまく言えないのですが…。
　笑える部分もそこかしこにあり、退屈しない作品でした。スピード感もありましたし。続いても良さそうな終わりだったので、今度は高校生ヴァージョンとかつくるのでしょうかね…。

　両親は幼いころに亡くなり、現在は家政婦さんと叔父さんの三人暮らし。叔父さんは銀行員で出張でしょっちゅう家を空けている。ある日、おじさんが事故で亡くなったと聞かされる。葬儀に来ていた男性が「シートベルトさえしていたら…」という台詞を漏らし、それにひっかかりを感じるアレックス。叔父は必ずシートベルトをしていたのに…。
　葬儀が終わり、家政婦であるジャックと家に帰ると、車の解体屋が来ていた。彼らはアレックスが帰ってきたことに気づくと逃げ去っていく。それをマウンテンバイクで追いかけるアレックス。車の解体作業をしている場所にたどりつき、叔父の車を発見する。そこには、銃弾の跡が…。
　自分が知らぬ間に叔父に訓練を施され、スパイとしてのすべてを身につけていることを知るアレックス。ふつうの学校生活に戻るか、叔父の敵を討つか―――。

もともと原作のストームブレーカーが大好きで、映画化楽しみにしてました。
原作者が脚本を手がけていることもあって、うまく短い中でまとめてあります。
なんと言っても主役のアレックス君がかわいい。将来楽しみな俳優さんです。
アメリカ資本に頼らず、イギリスだけで作っているという自負が映画のすみずみ
まで感じられてよかったです。
続編作ってくれないかなあ。
