3.0 out of 5 stars 気軽に楽しめたけど, 2008/6/5
エンディングがちょっと消化不良でした。
「プリティ・プリンセス」の玉の輿ver.といった感じのストーリーです。

ジュリア・スタイルズは医者志望の真面目な学生役が似合ってるし、
ルーク・マブリーも品があってデンマーク皇太子役にぴったりで
「プリティ・プリンセス」や「ホワイト・プリンセス」のような
シンデレラ・ストーリーが好きな人には文句なしにおすすめです。

ただ、あまりにもご都合主義的な終わり方なので、
私はちょっともやもやしたものが残りました。
個人的にはジュリア・スタイルズの主演映画なら
「セイブ・ザ・ラストダンス」の方が好きです。

　デンマークの皇太子が、アメリカに留学して、まじめな医学部志望の女学生に本気で惚れ込んでしまうお話です。皇太子のプレッシャーと闘いながらの成長の物語とも、ジュリアスタイルズ扮する女学生の、進学と恋愛に揺れながらも人として大切なものを見届けようとする物語とも読めます。
気楽に楽しめて、且つさりげなく人生にとって大切なものを教えてくれるものがあるし、皇太子は、女性にとってどこまでも完璧な王子様だと思いますので、夢に浸るにもふさわしい作品だと思います。馬に乗った赤い軍服姿の皇太子は特にすてきです。結末は、いろいろご意見の分かれるところでしょうが、相手の人生の夢を潰すまいとする王子の姿勢を評価したいと思います。
