ムーンライダーズのフロントマン・鈴木慶一にとって、長いキャリアの中で通算2枚目となるソロ・アルバムは、プロデューサーに曽我部恵一を迎えた"W(ダブル)ケイイチ"による奇蹟の一枚。プロトゥールスによるモンタージュとコラージュを駆使した、めくるめく迷宮へと向かう果てなき航海は、ヘイト船長(鈴木)をして「生涯最高のソロ・アルバム」と言わしめた、味わい深い名盤となった。なかでも、ライダーズ初期の傑作をニール・ヤングよろしく"アゲイン"した「Sukanpin Again」や、はちみつぱい時代の名曲「煙草路地」の再録ヴァージョンは必聴といえよう。あくまで個人的な感想ではあるけれど、本作は細野晴臣の70年代の傑作『泰安洋行』に対する21世紀からの興味深い回答といえるのではないだろうか。(木村ユタカ)

一度や二度聴いたくらいでは、それほど心打たれませんが
聴きこむほどに、どっぷり浸かってゆくはずです

船長あるいは航海士にいざなわれ、海上へ連れ出されます
しかし甲板よりは、うす暗い船室で聴くべき一枚です

また、凝った歌詞カードなどにちりばめられた
慶一氏の満足げなたたずまいが、なぜかうれしいです

鈴木慶一ファンにとっては、待ちに待ったソロアルバム。はちみつぱい時代のセルフカバーも含めて、非常に充実した作り。

その上、このレコードは、オーディオファイル的にも非常に面白いモノなのです。このメディアには、SACD Multi, SACD 2ch, CDの3つの録音が入っています。

同じ2ch同士でもCDとSACD 2CHは音作りを変えてあり、メディアの特性を生かしたものになっています。SACD Multi Channel録音は、リアチャンネルを最大限に活かした録音となっていて、左右にそれぞれの音が定位するなど、ちょっとびっくりするような音楽の作りこみがされています。

こういうレコードがあると、リアスピーカーにもよいものが欲しくなります。マルチチャンネル再生環境の構築にも非常に役立つレコードです。

レコード大賞優秀アルバム賞おめでとうございます！！

昔からのファンからするとちょっといまさらこんな大きな賞を
慶一さんが貰って気恥ずかしい気もするのが不思議です。

これでもっとファン以外の人にも聞いてくれるチャンスが増えましたね！

聴いたこと無い人はぜひとも聞いてみてください。
