シンプル・プランは:ピエール・ブーヴィエ(ヴォーカル)、チャック・コモー(ドラムス)、デヴィッド・デロシアーズ(ベース&バッキング・ヴォーカル)、セヴァスチャン・ルフェーヴル(ギター、バッキング・ヴォーカル)、そしてジェフ・スティンコ(リード・ギター)からなる5人組。カナダはモントリオールの出身。デビュー・アルバム『シンプル・プラン(原題:"NO PADS, NO HELMETS…JUST BALLS")』は2002年にLAVAレコーズからリリースされ、200万枚以上のアルバム売上を記録したほか、「アイ・ドゥ・エニシング」、「アディクティッド」そして「パーフェクト」といったトップ10ヒット・シングルを生み出した。更にシンプル・プランは2003年にはMTVのビデオ・ミュージック・アウォードで「ベスト・ニュー・アーティスト」にノミネートされたほか、2003年&2004年のマッチ・ミュージック(*カナダの音楽専門チャンネル)ピープルズ・チョイス・アウォードを獲得した。日本へは2002年9月にJapanTour(東京、大阪、名古屋、福岡、

Simple Planは1stアルバムから大好きなのですが、彼らは毎回進化しますね。
2ndが出た時に重さが出て良い風に変わっていって感激して、今回もですよ!!!
今回も前回同様捨て曲無しで最高です!
#1のリードトラックでもあるWhen I'm Goneから進化したSPをガツンと聴けて、#3のThe Endでは新しい試みが伺えます。それがまた良い!!
#5のSave Youは胸が締め付けられると言うか、心に響きました。
1stノリの曲は#7のTime To Say GoodbyeとボーナストラックのRunning Out Of Timeくらいかな?って感じでメロディーが昔のSPを感じさせます。
#8のI Can Wait ForeverはThe Beatlesを思い出すような曲の入りで、前向きなlove songと言うのも新しくて素敵です。
全曲語る事はしませんが、ライナーにも書いてあるように、Green DayやJustinからも影響を受けたというのも感じつつ、Simple Planは新しい境地へ行ってほんとに最高のアルバムだと思います。
前作から3年半も経ってるんですね。彼らは売れても調子に乗らずにやってきていて、これからもこの調子でどんどんいってもらいたいです。

１→２とロック色も音楽に関する好感度も上がったので、
今作は期待しつつもどうなるか心配だったのですが一切そんな必要はありませんでした。
サウンドは本当にスケールが大きくて何かの主題歌にできそうなほどの出来でした！
エモーショナルであったりアッパーな感じであったり、いい意味で本当変わってます。
自信と誇りを持てるアルバムだからこそセルフタイトルにしたという彼らの発言どおり、
とても素晴らしいです。かなり重宝しそうなアルバムです。
おまけのカードやポスターも満足でした。

2006年からNEW FOUND GLORY、GOOD CHARLOTTE、YELLOWCARD、SUM 41…と現在POP PUNKのトップを走るバンドが次々アルバムをリリースし、その中で、原点に戻る者や更なる進化を求めた者、新たな音を作りだした者など様々な変化が起こりました。そして、少し遅れてSIMPLE PLANが遂にニューアルバムをリリース、彼等もまた変化しましたね。大きな進化。「一つのジャンルとしてじゃなく、一つのバンドとして認識して欲しい」というメンバーの言葉が強く表れたこのアルバムはパンクのジャンルだけでなく、ROCKにおいてのマストアイテムになるんじゃないかな。やはり彼等のメロディーは最高ですね。けど個人的にもう少し純粋で爽快なSPパンクな曲が欲しかったのは事実… だけど駄作ではありません、傑作です。全くスゲーな…
