ミニとはいえなんとも早いペースで発売された４枚目のアルバムは、
まずケースを開けたときの面白さにどきりとさせられる。
これから購入を考えている方がいると思うのであえて詳しくは書かないが、
キャッチコピーの「甘くてほろ苦い」という二面性をよく考えた凝った作りになっている。

歌は相変わらず良く、カヴァー曲も含めジャズアレンジでまとめられた楽曲はどれも粒ぞろいで、
いつもそうではあるが「捨て曲」がない。
サクラ大戦で繋がりのある田中公平氏が曲を提供しているが、
てっきり彼女の持ち役である九条昴の曲のイメージを予想していた自分としては、
意外や意外、彼女の持ち前のハイトーンを生かした楽曲は目からウロコだった。
こんな高いキーの難しく思えるメロディをなんなく歌ってしまうあたり、
彼女の“歌い手”としての実力もまた上がったのではないか。

また、映画ブレードランナーのカヴァー「one more kiss dear」は
アナログレコードを思い出す様なしっとりとした歌い方で、レトロな雰囲気にさせられる。
一枚のアルバムの中で、時にキュートに、時に大人に歌い分け、演じ分けている様は、
さすがは女優、と言ったところか。

まったりとしていてそれでいてしつこくなく。
色々な味のアソートチョコレートを食べているような、まさにchocolatな一枚。
ココアとミルクティーもいいけれど、アルコールとの相性も良さそうだ。

暖かい部屋で、のんびり暖かいココアや紅茶でも飲みながら過ごしているような、
そんな気分にさせてくれるミニアルバムです。
聴いていると、気分が落ち着いてきます。
寝る前とか、ちょっと緊張してるときなどに聴くといいかもしれません。
