アーティストについて
2004年、幼馴染であるジェラルドとロイドを中心に結成されたLeftover(Kid Finishの前身バンド)。2005年5月にリリースした「Let's Pretend We Never Met EP」で地元シーンを中心に大きな話題を集め、Better Luck Next Time、Never Heard Of It、Waking Ashland、Sugarcult、Faulter等の人気バンド等とも多数共演を果たす等、ネクスト・ブレイク・バンドとして順調にキャリアを積んでいた彼等であったが、2006年に入ると、オリジナル・メンバーであるジェラルドとロイド以外のメンバーが相次いで脱退。その活動は一気に暗礁に乗り上げてしまった。だが2008年2月、Blink 182、New Found Gloryといったポップパンク~Mae、Daphne Loves Derby等のEMOバンド、Oasis、Foo Fighters等のメインストリーム・ロックまで、「グッド・メロディー」をキーワードに様々なジャンルからの影響を消化してきた彼等は、新メンバーとしてラス、バート、ジャスティンの3人を迎え入れると共に、バンド名をKid Finishへと改名。過去にZebraheadやFaulter、The Vandals、Social Distortion等を手掛けている名匠、ジョン・セント・ジェームスと共に作り上げた「This Is How She Held Me」という素晴らしいアルバムを引っさげて、シーンに帰還を果たす。Hello GoodbyeやNew Found Glory、Motion City Soundtrack等とも比較される高い評価を受けながらも、「ポップ・パンクという言葉だけでは括れないバンドになる」という高い志を持った その野望は、今まさに現実のものになろうとしているのだろう。
